If I'm wrong I apologize in advance but I believe they both get the same daily energy decrease. I don't do it so I'm not positive.
Seasonal energy yes, but in-game energy no. With 4 lines your players will end up at say 82/95 whereas with 3 lines your players will end up at 78/95 for example (numbers just estimates) which would indicate less training as the amount of training is influenced by the in-game energy of a player and not the seasonal (doesn't go down as the year goes on).
So Bizan, by splitting games your goalies will conserve in-game energy and thus train better. How much better depends and if you do a quick test you can easily see if the gain is worth it.

The in game energy is as follows. Normal or low importance with 4 lines is a 15% decrease. Playing high I believe is 25% energy on the daily. Using 3 lines rather than 4 is 25% energy on low or normal imortance. I've never played 3 lines on high but a guess it might be 35% perhaps. Spliting game time at tender I don't do so I'm only guessing. Try it once and you'll know.
