im thinking about doing, for hockey, the same way im going to build the handball: as a windows desktop software. so it should be a bit easier to import the scouted players and a few other pages the manager may want to.
For some reason the database doesn't properly display the right formation for me. It says I still have a goalie I got rid of forever ago even if I reupload him to the database, and it doesn't say anything about my best player now matter how many times I upload him either.

I was mainly referring to the projections. I have the same problem with the formation.
I've updated my former players since I sold them.
that is because i got real busy in real life that prevented me to work things for this season. so the formation may not work properly.
if you have a player that no longer is in you team, uploading him again "should" remove from your team.
what i can think is maybe you dropped him, nobody picked and maybe a bug preventing to get the new team when there is no team.

So today I figured I would watch the game.... LOL... 23 minutes in and I am losing 21-3 Then the big turn around. I have a two man advantage.... What happens.... They score and have 3 shots. 1 shot for me. Needless to say I did not play too much attention after that. LOL
