Congrats on the win Boilermakers! I hope you win your second game too!
I'm really hoping both of you guys promote so that I have a better chance of it next season.

Thanks, I'd be happy with a draw in the second leg though. I did some research yesterday and the two previous 2nd place teams (including you in season 1) lost their promotion round. Hopefully I can reverse the trend.
If I do win, you'll want to watch out for Boston United. Their players are tired right now after playing in I.1 (no "rest" games against noname teams) and making the quarterfinals in the Champion's League. I don't see them spending a lot of time in II.4.

he plays all his games on normal. After this year, teams playing in to I.1 will be almost unheard of, and the teams in I.1 will be deep and well managed. At least thats the trend I see. Most of the teams relegating are teams that Either wasted to much energy or got in to deep of a hole.
I also expect the teams in I.1 to be deep and well managed. Eventually, all of the top teams should be in I.1, as that IMO should be a goal for all managers. The top teams should be the best managed, including roster moves.
However, 1st place teams in the division II leagues will still get auto-promoted to I.1 and there's only a few teams in II.4 that I think will compete for that position next year. As far as energy, 20 games a season against noname teams will help out anyone's energy use. He won't be burning up energy in the Champion's League next year either. All I meant to imply was that Boston United would be near the top of the standings in II.4 next season IF they do lose their relegation round.
Also, if hockey is any indication, a division II team has won a promotion/relegation round every season. Although a II.4 team hasn't won a promotion/relegation round there either. It'll be interesting to see how things work out.

I think at this point, one of the key indicators of success in Div I is the Individual Skill rating in team strength. Soccer games are won with FK, PK and corners. Those teams with higher individual skill ratings have a better chance of success.
Boilermakers, Huggy Bears and yes, HC Apex are the teams right now that are well equipped for Div I play. The others will struggle some.
I'm honestly surprised my team finished 1st. I don't think I had the best team talent wise at all. Energy is a huge factor in this game, and I think it came down to mostly better energy management. Good luck to everyone next season. Hopefully I won't be seeing you guys again soon... unless you are getting promoted of course.
Every season I've made it a practice of only changing my lineups at the very beginning of each season. I'm wondering if that approach has been hurting me at the end of the season. Seems like I'm in the top 2 spots each season and then I get passed at the very end.
I can't believe you're still down here, fiz. After I stole that title in season 1, I thought you would be right behind me. Get up to I.1 and you won't have to worry about the NoNs

Last season was a heart breaker for me. I was in first until the last 3 games... then I fell to third. I'm hoping that I get up there this season though! I'm sure trying!
Oh my god. That's happened to you twice? I think I jumped ahead of you after the 41st game. Your post from 5/5 is right. You need to start using a few more players to give your starters some rest. I've always said that this was the only reason I was able to get past you at the end. Good luck

Greetings Twofourians! I really let my team go to seed last season. I just kept taking all the YP and sticking them on a single training. I was up to 60 players. The only good thing was I managed to get them all scouted, and now have cut back to 36 players. I'll be curious if I can compete with a bunch of players who are radically unbalanced.
I take a little more aggressive approach on the energy level in soccer than hockey, because there aren't playoffs.

Didn't realize it until just now, but I've played the last ~10 games with my backup lineup! No wonder I've been sucking! GRRR
