Those are still really good Q’s though. You could always flip him on the market. Would probably get some good money for him.

He'll be lucky to hit 500 OR by end of season, which is typically my cutoff for 15 yo players.

Estimated OR for this guy (based on his 3 OR gain in 2 days, which is a bit on the low end and does not include training camps)

End of Season: 432
End of his 18yo season: 844
End of his 20yo season: 1082

Although with his qualities he's more likely to do +1.7/day rather than 1.5, and if you include training camps we can push his OR gain to 1.8/day, which gives us:

End of Season: 448
End of his 18yo season: 942
End of his 20yo season: 1228

(my estimates do factor in loss of training per day due to age and CL drop, not in a very scientific way, but enough that they've been fairly accurate so far when the player stays on the same team).

In comparison, my 16yo Rico Torrens, who was the #1 pick goalie like 3 drafts ago, has an estimated 930 at 18 and 1211 at 20 (he was around 475 at the end of last season, I believe)

And other 16yo Quintin Welsh is currently sitting at 660 OR with 99/85/94 qualities, and even though SALISBURY NORTHSTARS do not have perfect staff, will sit at 987 at 18 and 1230 OR at 20yo.

There are a few more good goalie prospects at 16 but I have yet to scout a lot of 15yos. He may be viable, depending on how the other guys train. A number of them have been sold to tier 3 or 4 teams.

Best 16 yo is Glen Warner
(OR at 18 ~= 1100, Qs 95/96/74)

Best 15yo so far are

Deon Evans
(OR at 18 ~= 1000, Qs 92/84/71)

and Marcus Kaye
(OR at 18 ~= 1118, Qs 94/96/58)

As you can see, it's not that far off, each of them has a quality lower than yours

There are players with better distributions, but they are on teams without top facilities and staff, so their training lacks. In the ones with chances to produce NT-level players, yours has the 2nd highest effective quality behind Warner.

tl;dr: at the moment, Jobin is one of the best 15yo goalie prospects we have.

I have a 17yo 6/6 G who is 900+ OR mid-season.

No use comparing 17yo goalie with a 15yo goalie for U18 and U20 purposes though, they will never play on one of those teams at the same time.

Plus, your 17yo is not even canadian!

Agreed. I'm only comparing because my recent draftee will not hit 900 OR by the same age. He was 350 OR and was an end-of-season draftee, meaning he was "born" on day 1 of the season, giving him an additional 55 days of training advantage.

Holloway: 76/58/60 @ Qs 99/86/90, 350 OR on day 1
Jobin: 85/46/60 @ Qs 91/91/85, 351 OR on day 56

Pretty equal footing aside from Jobin being more 15.5 years old.

I'm hoping for DeShane to be the U18 starting goalie next season. 857 OR 6/6 at 92/72/84. Will do my training camps soon.

I haven't checked what's out there for competition though.

Oh wow. I didn't see that Merson. There goes my hopes of him being starter.

When i got DeShane, he was either goalie or center... Would have been good either way, but I had lots of centers and no good goalie coming up. Sadly his starting stats were geared towards center. It won't have too much of an impact in the long run, but I hoped he would get lots of NT playing time. Not so sure anymore!

I have a guy I'm looking at for now, but who knows how crazy the bid will be when he gets to term. I only have like 10M to spare atm. Thankfully, a short respite in terms of FA for the next like, 2 or 3 weeks.
