Is there a penalty for a player being too tall for his position? TIA!

If the player is not within the height range their is a penalty. Best bet to see what it is ,is to swap players around in a friendly and see how their in-game ratio changes

I just pulled a 15-year-old with great qualities at both PF and SF. His current height is 198. Which position should I train him for? Will he become too tall for SF?

I would recommend you set up a nice cross-over training and let the player train in that zone, so you will be able to lock them in once they stop growing at 18 or when you know they are too tall for the first position.

"Players will keep growing for some time after they arrive from the sports academy. The length of this period is individual as well as the rate at which the players grow in height."

Has anyone confirmed whether waiting for the sports academy to upgrade before looking at the players from the sports academy for the week actually makes a difference? If so, would the upgrade have an effect immediately after being finished, or could it take an extra day or so (in case the theoretical modifier to pulled players is applied after upgrades are applied)?

I will have a level 9 sports academy in 2 days, 1 day after the players from the draft become available. I suppose I'll wait to pull the players anyway, I'm just curious if anyone has confirmed that waiting actually makes a difference.

I never seen major advantage but Id wait regardless as theoretically it should be an advantage

It uses whatever your facilities are when you click the pull button. It's been confirmed by Vlady years ago. Everything takes into account your current levels when you click the button.

Wait until you get the "sports academy upgraded" news from the game. The players should come out with slightly higher ORs than they would if you pulled them now.

I drafted a C with an A pot and is 4.5 stars for all 5 positions. but he is only 6'1 (187cm). like the draft had him his current best attributes are for a center. What position would you train him? I havent been around long enough enough to be sure but i dont think he'll grow enough to be a center. A power forward maybe

Since height has never been a factor in other sports, it's hard to say. Nobody knows how much players can grow. I agree though, it's unlikely he'll be a center. I think the draft projects positions solely based on Q distribution; I saw a couple Cs who were in the 160s for height in my league's last draft. There's no way they're growing that much.

It seems likely that you'll have to choose between C and PF.
