As, I think, you saw, the number of shots per game, for a team, is inside a specific interval (7-45) depending on rating, tactics and other variables. In my opinion, I don't think there is a 'magic thing' among PP lines. Of course, PP players needs passing and shooting as much as possible, but per total PP percentage will not pass an average of 32% per game (just because they want this game as real as possible). I've checked some teams and the average PP % was between 20% and 32%.

These percetages of yours are shooting/primary ratios?
And just 50% for centers and 75% for defensmen? Seems weird to me.

i do not agree. i had a game where my oponent made only 4 shots so where is your 7?

Just 1 of the 2 defensemen on each line has 75% shot to primary. This has been my most effective build. I routinely put 2 defensemen in the top 10 in league scoring. The interesting thing is my 50% guys score OK as well.

My theory is pretty simple though certainly not proven as it is just a theory. My belief is the game engine is a "steps" process for every event. An example below.

1) Faceoff - result
2) Pass/check - result
3) Pass/check/shot - result
4)Pass/check/shot - result

And so on. Then I believe players are recognized in "zones". Corner, slot, point ect. The shooter with higher shot will shoot from more of these zones. Each zone has a different value on percentage chance to score. The 50% guy will shot from the better percentage to score zones and pass from the poorer zones. The higher shot guys shot from more zones thus the SOG% of 50% builds are actually pretty comprable to the 75% shot builds. But as long as you maintain 50% shot:prime the SOG% can be effective.

Further I found matching multiple builds on a line works best. The 4:3:3 center can score a hatrick or 3 assists in a game with 50% shot. But they make the 75% wingers more effective. Again only a theory but seems pretty consistant over the 3 seasons.

Your 75% shot-to-primary stat for your Defense -- are you saying if your defenseman has 80 Defense, you built him to have 60 shooting? Or are you talking about 75% shooting-to-offense ratio?

80:60 is the answer. These guys will score some goals and good SOG% relative to the team. 50% is the key as you get good SOG on some builds with 50% shot. 2 poor training defensemen I've put at 25% shot. The tend to play well on the PK. Definately not PP material. They look like 2 goals and 20 assists at the end of the season. Stay at home defensemen. Don't shoot much either so your 75%ers take more shots. You can mix up your team with all 3 builds. Without line matching I see no benifit to 25% shot forwards. Though admittedly I haven't tried 1 yet. LOL

For the first 2 seasons my best goal scorer had 18% SHO/OFF ratio.

This season my top PPG scorer (defenseman) has a 47% SHO/OFF ratio.

That said, my top scorer this season (top line center) has a 65% ratio.

There does appear to be a trend there. I've got all my previous 3 seasons stats in a spreadsheet, so might run some graphs and see how the trend looks.

Well for what it's worth, my 2nd best scoring defenseman (7G, 20A) has 5 offense and 23 shooting. lol. Funny how he has only 2 points less than the D-man with 27-22.

But his shot percentage is a good 10% higher. ;P

I could say, "he has a 400%+ shot-to-offense ratio" -- but with 5 offense I'd think he'd be more likely to high stick himself taking a slapshot.

I guess the more accurate way of looking at the ratios is Shoot / Primary attribute, which is how i worked out my defensemans ratios.

I looked at mine from the regular season and took my top 2 goal-scorers (because I hadn't worked out at the beginning who was playing what). In any case, the shot-to-offense percentage was 120.5% (with a shooting pct. of 25.0%) and 83.3% (shooting pct. 26.4%). Defensemen was 53.5% (shot-to-defense) with a shooting pct. of 22.0%. Of course, he only scored nine goals, so....LOL

If I start a 7-day training camp on Wednesday, will it carry over into Season 4? If it does, will it count as one of my two Season 4 training camps or will it only count as one of Season 3's?

if you set the camp for 7 days it will continue into the next season.

training camps are charged to the season when they are started regardless of whether they carry over to a new season.
