Now i earn about half of what i used to last season

The problem now is that were about 600 million behind. That gap will just keep increasing and it is all due to sa in season 1 and 2. Luck of the draw.

no... it doesn't.

"losing 50%" would mean that you make half what you did before.

"losing 100%" would mean that you lost everything.

When you're gaining, you can have increases of 200%, 300%, hell even 1,000%. But when you're losing, you can't have decreases of more than 100%.

You can't lose more than you have.

That's why I was confused... when you say that you lost 100% of your contract value, that means that your contract value went to essentially 0.

I know what you mean, but honestly... I don't compete against anyone but myself in these managers (something I learned to be beneficial after having started in season 13 in hockey). I just want to make my team the best that it can be based on what I'm given, and good decisions.

I didn't have any illusions about being the wealthiest team in the U.S. Hell I started out in division IV. I had such an early disadvantage, it's not even funny.

That said, I've tried to make the best of it, and I'd say that my team is looking pretty good now, when you consider where I came from.

Just to emphasize the point.

If you did go from 15M/week to 6M/week... then you lost 9M/week.

That is the same as saying your GS lost 60% of it's value.

I know that. But to compare promoting versus demoting it is better to use the same language: so invert the values.

it does. but to compare to what one would have earned from promoting i used the same comparison to analyze the worthiness of being on D2 and get promoted..

if i were in D2 earning 6M/week and promoted to earn 12M it would be 100% increase

it doesn't make sense. math is math is math. it doesn't change just because you decide you want to look at it from a different perspective.

whether you look at 1+1 from below, above, inside out, mirrored, etc. it will always equal 2. Perspective is irrelevant.

"inverting the values" or whatever you're talking about doesn't even make sense man.

If you want to say that upon promotion, you earn 2x as much, that would be the same as saying you got a 100% increase. If you want to say that upon relegation, you earn 1/2 as much, that would be the same as saying you got a 50% decrease.

That's how math works. Just like 1+1=2.

well .. ok. wont being discussing statistics here at ppm. My last message about it ... similar methodology is used to compare several loans son one know the best one. Logistics regression, regression analysis....

manager earning 100M
Relegation: 50% loss => 50M/year
Stay in division: no gain, no loss (maybe as very small loss of 10%) => 90M/year

manager in D2 earning 50M
Promotion: 50% gain => 75M/year +15M bonus = 90M
Staying finish 2nd to 4th: 15% gain => 65M/year

situation of the Manager that got demoted losing 50%.
unless promote back, will earn less money each year than staying in D1. to earn the same money will have to earn 100% more


so although the loss was 50%, a manager would have to gain 100% to earn the same the D1 manager would have he not get demoted.

so yeah, "I lost 50% but a D2 team will have to gain 100% to match my loss."


so .. in short: Losing 50% from D1 is not the same of earning 50% from D2. not when it comes to numbers. In percent they are the same, but to answer what is better: stay in D1 or relegate, percentage cannot be used.

numbers have to be regressed (or progressed) to the same date and compare the gain/loss in numbers.

so, to help your confusion let me rephrase it. instead of saying "I lost 100%" i will say "I will have to earn 100% now to match what i lost"

financially speaking i will say "Avoid relegation is more lucrative even in long term: OTR gain. As it would take 3 to 4 seasons to just match my loses if i do not promote"

I finally got a good VIP sponsor - 257,777 per week, roughly 200% of last season's contract.

Anyone else's GS feel kind of "light?"

This season, I bumped up my HR level by 1, increased my OTR from where it was last season, and upgraded my Marketing ability by nearly 30%, and yet my 5 star general sponsorship deals came in below what i was making during this most recent season.

Thank god for media sponsorship deals. I got another $26 million more there than last season... so I likely still have a small competitive/financial advantage over my peers in II.1, but I'm definitely pretty disappointed with the GS. I was estimating an increase of ~$20 million or so... not a slight decrease.

I got less money offered this season too. in fact, a lot less. Media deal was pretty good with a 30M increase. I might be earning more Media than some teams will earn on General

I was up gs by 40m for the season and media doubled.

I got promoted from III to II and my sponsorship offer went down...WHAT?

my new media deal is bigger than my current general offer
