So World Cup qualifiers start next week and in a pre-season summary we started with 3 losses, followed by a win, and then 3 draws.... so I view that as an improving preseason.

First qualifier match is against Columbia, and remember, we might be in 6th place in the group, but we are only 2 points behind top spot... so there is a theoretical, mathematical chance we could be top of the group after this weekend - it might be an extremely thin chance

This weekend we’re up against Columbia - the team at the top of our World Cup qualifying group.

Ver happy about a solid 2-0 win over Columbia tonight in our World Cup qualifier! Means we leapfrog the team previously on top of the table!

Yay! Congrats!

If my maths are correct, with Russia and Slovakia drawing, and Venezuela winning vs Chinese Taipei.... I think that very very thin mathematical chance has come to fruition! Seems like Australia on top on 11 points, 3 teams now on 10 points and 3 teams now on 9 points...

Next week we have a bye, so let’s enjoy the view from the top for this week only

I enjoyed the week off... looks like draws and results fell in our favour again. We are currently in 3rd place, just two points behind first, but both Slovakia and Russia are still behind us!

But what a crazy group - the team at the bottom (Azerbaijan, who we beat last week 7-0), this week knocks off and wins against the team at the top, Chinese Taipei 3-1.... to once against close up the group.
