Yes, you are right... I never said that anyone was doing something wrong... I I wanted to say is that suggested attributes are described right in the guide...
Every manager gets to decide its own attributes...
All I know is that my players are doing pretty good with the attributes that I select... 100/70/40... and of course it depends on the position of the player and his own abilities... So I am not arguing any of that... I just share what I think...

There's 4 categories in the guide: Primary, Major, Medium, and Small. Is the ratio you're listing the percentage of the primary that you train the secondary attributes?
And yes, everyone can use whatever ratio they like. That's part of the appeal of the game. However, this thread is for National Team discussion and the players selected should be the ones performing the best (with some allowance for young players with high potential). Most of the top teams are using a certain ratio (or close to it). At this point in time, there is no National Team Coach to decide what ratio of players he is going to want for the National Team. However, when the time comes, some people will be upset (as Blackkat stated) that their player isn't selected because they use what the coach would consider an inefficiency ratio (I'm being nice here).
If I had to give some advice to give to players trying to figure out a ratio, look at the top teams in I.1 this season and last season, the teams that performed well in international cups last season and the top National Cup teams from last season. Those teams are the top performing teams in the US. Many of those managers have posted their ratios in this thread.

Right now from the looks of it, there are a bunch of great US players going to waste from all the drop out over the last few season. Gary Villegas from Vexters team is one that comes to might right away. There were also a few players from swamp foxes as well. Atleat vowels sold off his players before quitting.
100 for the main/ 70 for major influence/ 40-50 medium and for the last I put 25-40 depending on the skills of the player
Losing Villegas sucks, but the fact he was 4/6 already takes a little bit of the sting away.
As far as ratios, I switched from the 8/5/4/3 I've used since Season 1, to a 6/4/3/2 today since the latter seems to give better ratings and total stars per OR point. I've also quit training adjacent primaries as secondaries (mid for forwards and defenders, off and def for midfielders) since the time spent training those doesn't seem to justify the loss from the main primary and secondaries.

Are we definitely losing Villegas? I thought he would go on the market at some point since his OR is so high.
First off, he's not a bad player and he should be a solid starter for you for many years. Also, your ratio is fairly close to what I'm using for example.
However, there are at least 6 LD's who are earning at least a 9 in-game rating. Jarod Perrin and Wayne Wellman are among the top LDs for example. If the NT Coach decides to add some young players to build for the future, he might have a chance. I did some quick data collection for league I.1 and at least 36 players are either 15 or 16 years old and have a higher OR than him. I don't know if any of them are LDs though. To maximize his chance of making the NT, you'd want to try catch up on your training and regeneration facilities so that he can keep up with other players who are training at a higher rate. A few teams already have level 12 training facilities in progress.

So how has your scouting of players been going. I have found some nice trends among the top players and the ratios they are using. It has actually helped me fine tune some of my training just a little more to maxamize player ratings.
So far just from league 1 I have found almost 70 players with a 9 or above rating that isnt just a 1-2 atty player. There are about 3 teams in league 1 though that are only making these kinds of players so that has helped lower some players that should be scouted. I havent been able to make it to the league 2 teams yet. Scouting is going way to slow.

It definitely feels slow here as well. I've also begun to tweak my training around what is working for other teams. I haven't updated my spreadsheet in over a week (I may do that today), but I'm showing 94 players with 9+, including 27 with 10+. There should be a full team of 10+ by the end of the season (before the energy reset).
For those that care about OR, there are at least 126 players in the US with 400+ OR. That does include foreign player playing here and does not include American players playing abroad.

After updating my list:
111 at 9+
41 at 10+
5 at 11+
1 at 12
I won't be adding any more "9"s to my list, as there is at least one backup earning a 9 in-game rating.
CD is packed with 14 players at 10+. I only have one RM on my list earning a 10+. There's also only two forwards earning a 10+ on my list. If anyone knows of an American player at RM or F that earns a 10+ besides Marx, Brennan and Buchanan, I'd be grateful if they would send me a message.

huh, his other defenders seem like they are a little under the peak curve for defenders (or central defenders). I have 8 rated players that are at least 20 OTR points less than his 6's, may have a lot to do with chemestry and Exp. multiplyers
If his qualities are good enough, we could use him for the next World Cup. ...provided we qualify
