Before this season, you were right.. But now, it's a little bit different. I've made some statistics, and I've found out that:
- wingers - 3 shots per game
- centers - 2 shots per game
- defenders - 1 shot per game
(except players from PP/PK lines)

but that doesn't mean your team will score more goals. i still believe that final number of * is most important for final result. will that number of * be collected by shooting, defence, keeping or attack is more/less irrelevant

I have an issue about team strength. I don't know exactly if shooting is counting when calculating team strength. But this is important for something else...

Anyways, until last season, defense/offence ratings, tactics and game importance were very important. If you would had a better defense/offence rating, you would had more shots, that means more chances for goals. From this number of shots, some of them were converted in goals due to shooting/GK ratio.
Now, counter tactics influence is decreased (something about: correct counter tactic means -2.5% from tactic bonus), number of shots given by defense/offence ratings are decreased due to a factor, shooting attribute influence vary a lot due to same factor (there are a lot of users that didn't find it out yet and they are complaining about poor results).

The good thing is that we can choose the value for this factor. If we pick correct value, than shooting become not important, but very important (especially in PP lines) !

i agree about everything that chaged but shooting (not counting PP's but overall mark).

I use the following ratios:

- defenders 2/1/1 with 1 for tec and 1 for shooting
- centers 2/1/1 with 1.2 for shooting
- wingers 2/1.2/1 with 1.5 for shooting
