- do you have to migrate them directly or is it possible to leave a player a few days without any national team?

there is no time limit for that, but their chemistry should drop gradually if they don't play, just like any other player

No, in NT soccer is different chemistry system than is in hockey NTs.

How much did he play? Is he one of the guys who played 20 matches?
Approximately that would mean he had 100% chemistry (average 5% times 20). So he should end up at 20% in your team.
I called up a player that played 11 matches, which should mean something like 55% at the end of last season (still waiting for U20-Coach answer). That should be 11% then. But he came with 8%, so also less than expected.
I'm maybe computing in the dark here, but is everything working fine?

my opinion is:
20 matches (average 5%) = 100%
100% - 30% (reset) = 70%
70% x 20% (U20) = 14%
