"How is it decided how much prize money is in a league? Just noticed that we in Norway have a ridiculous amount. Ie. half of what Sweden have. "
"league OTR and perhaps also number of league levels in the country. "
"Sure there is nothing else?
Norway: A.OTR - 377.72, 2 league levels
Sweden: A.ORT - 451.50, 4 league levels
Slovakia: A.ORT - 489.01, 6 league levels
Between Norway and Sweden there is roughly 20% difference in A.OTR and 2 league levels. There is around 8% between Sweden and Slovakia and also 2 league levels.
1. place price money in Sweden is 22,8M. If OTR were the only factor that would mean that Slovakia should be 22,8*1,08= 24,6. They are in fact 24,7. So it is really close.
Now let's look at Norway and Sweden. 1. place in Norway gets 11,3M. Again, if only OTR applies Sweden should have 11,3*1,2=13,6... (Sweden has 22,8M as said before)
The only thing I can read from this, is that OTR has a very little impact on price money, and for some reason going from 2 to 4 league levels is WAY more valuable then going from 4 to 6 (even if the number of teams needed to fill the leagues is WAY less).
After writing this, I had a look at Slovakian III. division, and Norwegian I.1 winner gets almost the same as the winner of many III. divisions in Slovakia. In fact if we look at percentage difference in III.1 in Slovakia and Norwegian I.1, the amounts are almost the same. The same goes for Swedish III.1 and Norwegian I.1 league.
My suspicion is that countries with more then 3 league levels measure price money based on OTR, while countries with less then 4 levels (or maybe less then 3) gets prices based on league level 3 from the bigger countries. "
"I have also found out that 4 league levels is maximum that is taken into account. If a country has more (like Slovakia), it doesn't get anything extra. Hence the small difference between Slovakia and Sweden and the big one between Sweden and Norway. "
