It is becoming more and more obvious that I am clueless here. Can somebody look at this game,

And explain to me why I got dominated? My player rating and team rating are several points better even looking at the in game stats. Are those ratings meaningless? A 1 or 2 point loss might not be so bad because I could say it was an upset. But to lose by 25 points? Was it because I played a National cup game earlier? I have no control over that and if that was it then scheduling is effed up. I am totally confused. Thanks.

Actually my team rating is only 1 point better. But that raises the question of how our team ratings are so close yet my player ratings are bigger.
Team rating doesn't have to deal directly with how strong your team is, rather it is what people think of your team. I just learned about this because of your question, so thanks for bringing it up.
As to why the loss was that much, who knows. I think we are all figuring out the game engine still. It could be home court advantage. It could be that fatigue still does not have the impact that we all think it should be.

From my experience in other PPM sports, a couple points difference in player rating is not very important. Once each of your ratings are +10 to +20 as compared to your opponent, then you can start expecting to dominate on the court most of the time.
Right now, everyone's teams are so similar that RNG has a huge influence on the outcome. Don't stress about any one game - just develop a training plan, adjust your tactics to suit your team, and stick around for a couple seasons to watch it come to fruition. If your plan is solid, you should have some success.

Your opponent shot the ball better than you. they also out rebounded your team by a +10 margin. they had more blocks and steals and your team had more turnovers. you can't have a team beat you in all these categories and expect yourself to win.
another key reason you lost is because 2 of your starters fouled out in the 1st half, forcing your coach to bring on the substitutes. the other team had a better in game stats than your team. they played better and deserved the win. i don't think you understand basketball well because there's really nothing strange about that result...

What I don't get is the difference in player ratings. Even my subs ratings are equal or better. Everybody should be about the same in chem and formation. Experience for players should be close. Even though a few points in player attributes didn't matter, getting beat by 25 points is a lot. How did weaker opponents shoot and perform so well?
No clue. My only "reasonable" response is...even the worst teams have a good game now and again. It's the only consolation I can give myself the times it happens to me. And, yes, I know it's a sucky answer. But it's all I got for you.
players rate and team strength are too close so anything can happen.
chemistry .. not very true. My players have 100%. In fact they reached a couple of games ago. Teams playing on VL or Low will gain chemistry a bit slower (not much slower but slower).
Game engine has changed since day one. so if you, for example, compare to a game played on first week and this week they were played in different engine version.
For as long as they are tweaking the engine it will be "hard" to just compare. My guess next season it will be easier to compare and start to understand the engine.
