I'll try to apply that more this year, I didn't quite get as much out of my wing players than I thought I should have...

remember this is my my personal view. speed, passing and tech are about equal in importance for wingers. i know the guide says otherwise...but i think it's not correct (or at least it shouldn't be). when i give tech and passing extra weight, my wingers perform better. i don't have the math to back it up, but it certainly seems that way.

on that subject, by the way...does anyone else find it amazing that speed is of little influence for center midfielders...???

For me i belive that to play on 3-4-3 the secret must be on the Defense.

the opponents always play with 1 man atakking or 2 wich means that 3 defenders are more than enough for 1 forward but for two they have to be very strong plus a great GoalKeeper.

4-3-3 doesent work well at least in Portugal because my opponents love the 3-5-2 set up, so 5 against 3 on the midfield is more than obvious what happens...

With 4 midfielders i can try to balance and get the edge with 3 forwards against the 3 defensemen of my opponente.

What is the Ratio you use to train the Atributes?

ratios for wingers...equal tech, pass and speed is what i am working towards. not quite there yet. currently it's 5-4-3 (main-speed-tech/pass) working to 5-4-4. the closer i get to 5-4-4 the better they play. when i drift back to 5-4-3, performance slacks off.

and yes, the only way a 3-4-3 works is with awesome defenders. depending on your formation, you can get up to 6 or 7 attachers, and 6 or 7 defenders as play moves up and down the field. it's the reason i like that formation.

and i have to restates something i said at the beginning...i use a 3-5-2 not a 5-3-2.

i played a lot the 3-4-3 and also the 4-3-3 due to lack of players (some mids out with suspension) and whenever I played the 4-3-3 I always used the long ball tactic. I ended up tying some really strong teams that way and also won some 1-0 ugly games.

it's the ratio i'm following too....


here in Portugal happened a funny thing...

in the 1st season we all played the matches in Normal importance( some went to High) but this season something funny happened....

One team played in Low (at least 70% of the matches) and he got 2nd place on the League I, won the National Cup (against me) and got to the finals of CWC

Now that was what I was alluding too before! setting up style of play with your tactical formation. Long ball tries to avoid using midfield and therefore reduces the stress on that part of the field, worked well for me as well

I rarely use the long ball tactic because i play a 4-5-1 and that will take away all the strength of my team. Next year I look forward to trying that out a bit

makes sense, Vex. with a full midfield you don't need to play long ball tactics. i hadn't thought of that...but i have team full of middies so, long ball isn't on my list of tactical moves...yet.

in today match i tried the 3-4-3 against the winner of CwC and he plays and love the 3-5-2.

He also plays on my league and i won a match foe the league with a 3-4-3 and today again.

1-0 was the score on both time witch is short for what i intended.....
