You are totally off the point with that. Here the word is about settling back after the huge scorlines in 1st halfs. Not about settling back after lead in general.
And your stats are in general.
If you want to compare this case with the stats than you have to pull out stats where 1st halfs finish with score of 5-0 and above, and than see how much goals were scored in 2nd halfes of that games.

the mechanism only influences very lopsided games like the one posted above. There are not that many of those in the premier league.
Fair enough. Saying that, it appears that the game assumes that anytime there is a big scoreline after the first half then the team will "almost" always settle back and not score more. I still do not believe this happens as frequently as it would appear the game programming would have us believe.
They can make a difference for their position on the field or their attributes, not because they are fresh in the match. Players do not get more and more tired along the game.
If I remenber what have been said here before, substitutes aren't fresh players... they don't arrive on the field with the max in energy but with the energy of the living player ...
none ATM, except for expirience and chemistry
also if I remember correctly, substitute that enters play at 10, 45 or 89 minute, it loses same (full) energy

1) Subs are an important tactical option, so that's really a point, too.
2) That's untrue. Players loose energy according to the time they played. That was changed at least 2 or 3 seasons ago.

what is the point of sporting academy? i got on 11 rate,97% traning youth and all i got (not just today, but a couple of months) are losers with one star with, please is this all luck?
Talents are all just luck, OR is influenced by academy level, and number of youths is influenced by academy level.
I just crunched the numbers in my hockey team.
I have spent 239M on construction, 116M on staff salaries and 40M on maintenance. A total off 395M. In my 10 seasons, I have sold players (from own SA) for a total of 467M (used a 9% average sales fee to get the number).
So all in all, it has payed for itself and its staffers and given me a fair profit. BUT in addition it has given me a my current 17 of 22 starters. If I sold them, the sales numbers would probably be 1B+.
So for me it has not been a total waste. Although I have not had many good talents the last 300 days...
I am only guessing things will be about the same in soccer, but only time will tell...

Thats true, academy is a long term investment, it does pay off, but it takes time
