having lots of trouble with my finances it seems....i know in handball and soccer ive never really had an issue with money, but here im trying to do the same strategy and seem to be finding myself slow going. currently in the red..what am i doing wrong?

The biggest mistake is not to play friendly matches. It is best to play with major league teams in large stadiums.
You have an unnecessarily large number of players. Most players are bad.
You have too many employees. If I have any employees, then only 2 coaches, 2 managers, 2 physiotherapists, 2 sports directors. You have level 10 with these facilities and there the staff will help a bit. Otherwise, employees are an unnecessary expense.

I agree with tandem on all counts. All players on your team with less than 600 OR will never be of use to you. Cut them today and save half their contract value. With the exception of "managers", most staff are of little value until your facility reaches level 10, at the very least. Even after level 10, other than "managers" and "directors", you can save a ton of money by only training them to 100 OR total (instead of 200), without seriously affecting their contribution.

Erick Hawks this player could even be sold. I have no research on this hockey player ... but he seems to have quality. You have to sell as soon as the player is born.

It was good to prioritize upgrading your arena, but that comes with significant maintenance expenses. You should prioritize building up your maintenance facility as soon as possible. It would also help to focus on building your human resources up towards 15 to get better sponsorships.

Be careful about promoting; you would likely end up few wins next season which would hurt your OTR and therefore your sponsorships for a few seasons.

Agreed about the staff with the others. Players probably aren't a big factor for you since you have less than 40 players and no foreign players (who would have higher salaries). In terms of competitiveness with your league, you're in about the right spot: good enough to win a lot without promoting too early. Given your competition, one great upgrade would be enough to promote. You also have the facilities to keep up with anyone in the same range except for the Astronauts and Eindhoven Stars, so you don't really need to worry about upgrading your roster or building up facilities that will improve how much your players train for now. You could save a bit more if you get rid of 10 more players or so and don't need to keep younger player to train, but it's not too big of a deal relative to the other issues if you want to keep them. They'll train at least as well as players from 16-17 others teams from your league.

Hawks could still be a borderline NT quality player on a good team (though there's little guarantee he'd actually go to an advanced team if you sold him). He could end up between 800-900 OR at 18 on a team with developed facilities which would be enough for consideration for the U18. With his qualities, if he has good luck with CL, then he could catch up to other players and perhaps be a candidate for the senior team in the future (though odds are against having great luck with CL). You could get at least a few million for him. His value would plummet though if he dropped to 5/6 CL next season.

No one mentioned custodians, but two are absolutely worth keeping on staff because they will more than pay for their own salary with maintenance savings.

However, you must not overtrain them. The math of figuring out the optimal amount of training is a bit complicated, but for where you are now in terms of arena and facilities (as well as league level), your head custodian should have attributes of 15 / 5 and the assistant 14 / 4.

This is a pretty small savings though because your maintenance facility level is much too low. Level 2 will pay for itself in only ~11 days, Level 3 in another ~16 days, Level 4 after ~28 days, and Level 5 will take ~45 days to pay for itself. These values are all approximate because they depend on the amount of training your custodians have as well, but they're fairly close, within a couple of days.

Once you have a level 5 maintenance facility, assuming no other arena or facility improvements, your head custodian should be trained to 36 / 11 and the assistant 30 / 10. So, as you can see, it's very easy to overtrain these guys.

For an additional point of reference, my staff is optimally trained to 76 / 76 and 60 / 60 with a mostly filled out arena and facilities.

And in case anyone was curious, in the US league with our 5% staff salary reduction (because of having a small number of teams), if you fully max out the arena and facilities, custodians should be trained to attributes of 78 / 81 for the head and 62 / 65 assistant.

There's no need to ever go any higher than that.

I would quickly plan friendly matches! this is the daily income . Best in stadiums with maximum capacity. Then I would not extend the contract to players who do not play matches.

Im sorry, I'm a bit confused, how do you know what to max out on training wise?

For custodians, it's just math. You compare their salary to how much they save on expenses to find the optimal training amounts.

It can be a bit complicated to figure it all out, so that's why I gave you some examples to get you started in the right direction.

I thought the best teams, the best from the first league, the maximum capacity of stadiums. I can challenge you, but I play the 4th league, so I don't know how many spectators there will be
