I hear ya. I don't like the way tactics seem to be working now but figured that might just me being adverse to change. I really don't like the way the GK system is working now AT ALL!

The irony comes however that with these changes in importance I've actually been considering the game is getting closer to being a finished product. I told myself I'll go propack once they release a finished product of a game. I just hope that happens before all of us quit lol! I think that when the even the playing field and stop favoring certain countries (in terms of SA pulls and foreign salaries) I'll for sure donate.

I have been reluctant to say anything about the new engine & improvements untill I had given them its fair shake but its just getting more & more agravating to log into this game and see another loss that I can understand. I know Mrk1 has done alot of venting in the international forums and have gotten greif about it from people but I'm starting to get closer to his feeling about this game. Not quite there yet but getting close.

As you said this GK system is backwards as nothing else. Either they need to find a way to incorporate the GK influence into the ratings below in the game summary screen or do away with the ratings all together. I hate seeing a goalie rating for my team 30 points higher and lose constantly. I know my goalie is not top 8 in our league but it is top 10 Ive scouted every goalie and know that for a fact. And yet my SV% is among the worst this season. I got from best goalie last year to worst just about??? Make no sense to me!

But that might also be due to the changes in the shooting attribute as well. It's going to take some time to get a handle on the changes and find what works best, for sure.

I understand you are frustrated, and would hate to see you leave, but I guess I just don't understand why losing makes the game not fun.

I'm not saying it's a blast to lose, but i'd be more bored if I won every game. But maybe that's just me. I hope you end up sticking it out, I remember playing you in II.1 and were always a tough competition

So now shooting is the most important factor. So long as I have the highest shoot & nothing else I should win more?

Not saying I need to win every game because I dont. Havent finished once in the top 4 & never over 6th in a playoff round in league 1 and I'm still around kicking so your staement of always winning is unfounded to this discussion. Save the always winning speach for leggy!

haha i know about the winning thing, i just mean, that seems to be a lot of the frustration is from people when they don't win. (Never hear someone complain "I won but don't know why)

I don't think losing is the problem. Everybody loses including Leggman. I agree that it would get boring if you won all the time. Its part of the game and makes it a little more realistic. I think the problem is not knowing why you lost. Everybody has their own theories or reasons on why you lose but nobody knows for sure. Thats the frustrating part, losing to teams you clearly have no reason to lose to and not knowing why. When everything is in your favor and you still lose. Then you play a team that is clearly better than you and you win. I understand it happens in RL but it happens too often on here sometimes making the game a little inconsistent.

But if it was consistent winning and losing, then why play the games, we could just look at team strengths when the season starts, say, ok, i'm going to be 25 and 13 and then done. Upsets are part of what makes the game exciting, win or lose

I agree trying to figure out what to do to win those games you aren't winning and vice versa is frustrating, I don't know how much we can trust the play by play and how much of it is just fluff.

I know the traditional indicators of why someone won and lost seem to have changed, used to be just glance at tactics and importance and you were done. I like that it's harder to win, but I won't lie and say I know the "new keys" to victory yet. I look forward to the challenge of figuring it out.

No I scratch my head when I win the underdog matches. Last year I beat leggman...yes I beat him, how NO CLUE. Will I do it again this year I hope not because it wouldnt make sense but then again the way games go this year who knows.

Old version it was pretty simple to firgure out if an underdog had a chance to win a game. Importance, Countertactic, & Homefield Advantage, Mixed with A Goalie God Day.

New Version...just do nothing special and let the game engine do all the work. But on a serious note, Importance (Still there), Countertactics (dont really exisit), Homefield (Dont know if that still applies) Goalie God Day (who really has a clue on how that works now), PP & PK tactics (Does apply) Shooting (Dont know where you see that increase or decareas per team since it didn't look like shooting jumped or sank on alot of team strength pages)

and i'm not trying to say you guys should all feel the same way I do by any means, I'm just saying why I like the changes, and trying to understand the perspective you guys are coming from.

Oh for sure, the new indicators are a challenge, I don't know what they are either. I just keep tinkering a bit after wins and losses to see what I can do.

I don't know if it's so much that the shooting stat jumped on team strength pages, but it might be why the save percentage %s are going down, it might be showing up in that way, ie strength may have stayed the same, but the shots converted increased, etc.

Do you think you would feel any differently if you had more than 1 loss. lol Its easy to claim you don't see what the frustration is when you have only lost once. I'm sure if you had 6 losses by now, you would be singing a different tune.

And I am in no way saying the better team should always win. Upsets can be exciting. I'm just saying they are happening too much. Sooner or later they aren't gonna be considered upsets anymore. Out of my 4 losses, 3 were to teams with considerably lower team strength. I'm not that upset that I lost, just that I can't see why I lost. I have tons of theorys and possibilities but everytime one makes sense, the next game will prove me wrong.

FYI your grammer is off. Your sentence should read "...tinkering a bit after wins & A LOSS to see..." Only a single season loss, so I know its hard to understand the way we feel. Sorry for the cheap jab at your arguement but I counldnt resist!

Yes, I have only lost one time this season. I've also had to go to overtime 3 times.

I also was 9th last season, 8th the season before, and 6th the season before that. So you're right, I don't know anything about frustrating losses THIS season, but I am aware of and familiar with the process. (I know you were making a joke, but some might not )

So no, i haven't had to tinker much with losses this season, but it's not over yet, there will be losses and I will be making changes, and trying to figure out which changes work.

My point is, rather than be frustrated because there is no clear answer of what to do, I relish trying to figure it out. I like the unknown, and not knowing the answers. I feel too MUCH is in the guide. But again, I'm trying to figure out where others peoples concerns and frustrations are coming from so I can understand them better, not trying to convince someone to my perspective.

So far It just seems like "I should have won" seems to be the key thing for some players. From talking to you it sounds like it's more "I don't know what i'm doing or why it is or isn't working" that is keying into the frustration?

I'm glad you understood the sarcasm. I dont really think I will quit, at least not yet but I am sure until I have a better grasb of what the hell this game is trying to do now I probably wont be spending any more money on it.

Call me resistant to change but I liked the game the way it was, I never called for a change but I guess I was doing well and not losing alot by compairason to others. I guess we will see. I know you are a big supporter for the little guys & hate when people complain about lossing (I've seen your posts to others on that subject in other forums) especially when they are a strong team. I get you dont want this game to be the best always win & whe worst always lose, but like flyers said it seems that more upsets are happening more frequently (as long as you use team strength as your indactor).
