It would be nice to see in the game "form of the players". This would give the game... a reality and something to think about before the match.
PLAYERS ARE NOT ROBOTS and they have bad days and good days.
Form in this moment is "day random" ...probably...
If you add form, than we know exactly what this "day random" means and how it works!
This would solve many problems and confusions.. I think (?)

there is seasonal energy at least. Also in reality, it is difficult to evaluate form before a match and sometimes may be random itself.
I see this form like one of players skill.
Form goes up and down by random.. would be refreshed once a week (+ or - or nothing. Example 1-5 - players "personal life"

it exist in hockey for goalies, but is not shown for a reason similar to what I stated above. Good idea though, I just wanted to mention there is already a similar function to it.
I dont think the way to go is make i it more depending on having luck (in this case having luck your players having good days often and in the right matches)
I see wher you're going with this, maybe instead of form make it Hot/Cold. Still do it 1-5 maybe ice, cold, normal, hot, fire. Make it so that it has a much larger chance of being normal and gradually shifts to hot and cold as player production changes. Maybe when the player is on fire his attys go up by 5% and when he's on ice it goes down by 5%.

In real life there is known the term "daily form" but it can't be measured or it is but after the game is played

it would be great if you guys could split up staff and youth pulls
now we have staff on monday (football) and tuesday (hockey)
and
youth pulls on thursday (hockey) and friday (football)
switch one of those with eachother, you that you have staff on monday, youth on tuesday, staff on thursday, and youth on friday (don't care what sport when)
but make it staff and youth in the early beginning of the week, and staff and youth at the end of the week, would be much more thrilling, I guess not many people care about the staff that much ...

- could have referees with different styles, more homely, more rigorous, but with the statistics implicitly , number of fouls, cards, Home & away, always leaving in doubt, it would not have accommodation to the manager in tactics, making the best manager to analyze the game to be played
- also could have the psychological characteristics of players, making it easier or more difficult the evolution of the group is also reflected in individual aggressiveness,

This could lead to more upsets, but on the other hand managers would have new target (referee) to blaim for upset. They don't have to always blaim devs for the upsets.
I think we don't need more random, so I don't like the idea. Unless, we are able to bribe the referees or make an appeal of referee's actions to cancel suspension

change the player aging system. instead of players getting older at the end of the season let them have "days"
i.e a player is 17yrs 65days old and when he gets to 112 days he will be 18
