A game everyday - busy time for you

A great 2-0 victory over Lithuania! As this team has the highest team strength out of all our 3 group opponents, this is a very crucial win, and another one would definitely put us through to the playoffs! Tonight we play Moldova, the only team ranked below us currently, so I am hopeful for a win there. We then verse France the following night, and they are the highest ranked team in our group.

We have also outperformed (considerably) each of our opponents this season, with 3766 points (second-best is Lithuania with 2195 points). This win over Lithuania also secured this season as the best performing season in the past four (sorry BronteFlynn)!

Good luck to both the other Australian teams, which unfortunately both lost, in their respective tournaments. You'll probably see another long stats post like this tomorrow again!

YES! We have made it through to the play-offs, and likely as 1st place unless Moldova both wins and beats us on goal difference. We now join Estonia as the second team to definitely progress to PPM Football Challenge Cup (C) playoffs. Our likely opponent in the quarterfinals will be either Japan or Chile, but nothing is certain there. To be honest, we probably didn't really deserve to tie with France, but those points could prove to be crucial. No losses yet, so let's see if we can keep up the streak!

Congrats on the draw to secure the playoff spot! The U20s are doing great this season!

We have unfortunately bern defeated by the Japanese in a close quarter-final encounter. I watched the second half intently, and was guttered when they got one in the 84th minute. A great performance, and I believe it is only the second time we have made it to the playoffs. Great season, and now I can definitely say that that is a wrap!

Next season we continue with World Cup qualifying, and then we can only hope we can qualify for the big tournament!

Bad luck. But it was great performance

Not a surprising result against Brazil, if anything it was a bit better than I was expecting. Not only are they clearly the stronger team, but I was playing a VERY new lineup, with the lineup at the end of the match seeing no 20-year-olds. This season especially there were some really good players coming through the U17's team thanks to the new manager, Malikas.

Always want to start a season with a win, but I'm sure I can redeem myself in the next batch of closely-matched friendlies.

In regards to the U20 squad for the season, I am up to 34 players, and am currently scouting Joshua Corcoran (FC Kangaroo), Henry Light (FC Brisbane), and Noah Howlett (FC Kangaroo). I am looking for a central midfielder preferably for the final spot, so if anyone has some other suggestions that would be great! My backup at this point is Damien Percy (Fire Kickers) if I am not satisfied with the other three.

Would also like to note that I accidentally added Stephen Wooley (Fire Kickers) to the squad while scouting this season. My apologies for this mistake, as this player is nowhere near the quality I am looking for in an U20 player. This is only one spot though, so it shouldn't make too much of an impact...

Both Howlett and Percy are side midfielders and Howlett is a much better one. Out of the players you mentioned, he's probably the best choice. Corcoran seems a better player, but is marked as a forward.

We got a loss against Morocco, a team that we rank better than, so it was a bit of a disappointing result. Even though I was hoping for a better score, it wasn't completely unexpected as we have a very young line-up with low chemistry. This will prove to be beneficial later in the season, as we will have stronger chemistry and we will have a good young team coming through for the following seasons.
