That's confusing, to say the least - with a manager, they should be doing better than the managerless teams by default... Not doing better than a managerless team seems almost insulting!

Nah, it's not surprising really, and is a reason why I think a lot of active teams disappear after making it to I.1 (the ones that start in league one seem to last longer).

Team strength is based on the league average for new teams. So in I.1 players usually start around 900OR. In league two, with almost all new or bot teams, they average less than 200 OR! Bot teams seem to have half the strength they did when they had a manager.

So a new team that starts in I.1 (lucky!) but becomes managerless, will have over twice the strength of the team with an active manger that started in league II. If they both still have managers, then the difference jumps to 4x as strong or more.

A lot of teams overcome this hurdle by buying on the market, but Prada decided to focus on $$ instead and keep their base team. Going back down and promoting again isn't a bad move really. There is more cash at the top of league 2 than the bottom of league 1 after all...
