Wow... just read the review on Banished. Did you know that the game was made by a single individual? Craaaaaazy.
You mean SimCity? The new one is like that. I still play SC4 rather than the new one; they completely butchered it.
oh yeah... sorry... I've been playing the sims 3 again, and completely typed wrong.
Yes, I was talking about the new sim city game that is always online, and forces people to play with others.
I'm a social person, but dammit if I want to play a game by myself, I wanna play by myself! haha.

Agreed. I don't want to be forced to be connected to their servers. What happens if I am a) on an airplane and wanting to play or b) it is 10 years from now and sure as shit they've shut down the game's servers. Does that mean everyone can no longer play it?
That's one of the main things I've been worried about with these persistent online games out there. I loved diablo2, but I outside of beating diablo3 once, I haven't really gotten into it as much (mainly because I wonder what will happen if/when the servers go down).
I have computer games from 15 years ago that I still play on occasion (gangsters: organized crime and the original unreal tournament, among others). It would just suck to fall in love with a game that I couldn't revisit and play from time to time.
That said, some people have suggested (at least with diablo3) that if blizzard ever took it offline, they would release a patch that would (somehow) allow an offline mode.
I think that is pretty far-fetched, but who knows...?

Yes, I did know it was made by one person. Simply frigging amazing how much he packed into 250 megs. Tropic 5 comes out in May folks. Total revamp, with sandbox mode.
For the record, Age of Wonders 3 comes out March 31st of this year. I can't say that I've been more excited about a game release in a long time. I highly recommend the franchise to anyone who enjoys TBS.
I'll be buying the g.o.g version (I seriously love game producers that release g.o.g. versions).
Also note that when I say, "buy" I actually mean that. I'll admit that I'm one to try things out via torrent from time to time... and I'm not necessarily proud of that, but Triumph Studios is a developer I will absolutely support. They and the Age of Wonders designers and production team are so fan friendly, that they deserve every dollar for their work on that franchise.
I mean seriously, they delayed the release of the game from 2013 to now, because they wanted to spend the time to include a (very feature-rich by the looks of it) random map generator, and enhanced modding support for community modding. That sort of stuff is amazing to see for any hardcore gamer. Most developers these days would just throw out a Beta version of the game, and then charge people more money for DLC that should've been in the base game to start with.
I'm seriously so excited. Sorry for all the gushing lol...

I really hope they spent time on the tactical map AI for this version - it was way too easy to beat much stronger armies in AoW2:SM. I also hope they change how exp is awarded. I don't like the killing blow getting the exp since it changes how I play from trying to win the battle to trying to farm as much exp as possible on the right guys in my army.
those are both fair points... from what I understand, the tactical combat has gotten some edits and is a little more deep (but not so much so that you wouldnt recognize it if you played prior games). There's actually a tactical combat gameplay video on the game's website I think... if you wanted to check it out. one thing that I will say is that it looks like the classic game(s), but its oh so much prettier.
I don't know how experience will be awarded, but I think that cover and tactics in battle have been reworked. Its cool though because it looks like the rpg elements have been expanded a bit (weak draconian hatchings evolve into a different unit if they gain enough exp).
I dunno... I'm looking forward to it... though I agree... it would be nice if the exp system is tweaked somehow. I remember always trying to last hit with my heroes lol.

Played Elder Scrolls Online Beta this weekend. It was nice but attacking system is pretty boring as pretty much just need to keep hitting the "hit" button and at times the defend when the mob start using heavy attack.
Unfortunately i was unable to check the PvP mode. The epic battles i saw on youtube looked pretty fun.

Anyone play Titanfall? For me, it's been the best shooter experience since Modern Warfare 2.
I'm getting it this summer when I get my One. Glad to hear it lived up to the hype.
I've put about 5 hours into it. There's some bullshit things like the smart pistol and the spawn system is not the greatest but it is really fun. I'm hoping it only improves.
