I only played online a few times hehe. I would never trust a human in diplomacy lol. I know they would be wrong in trusting me.
I'm definitely not trustworthy when I play Diplomacy. I tend to become allies with everyone and slowly "stab" all of my allies one at a time (at least, that's what I tended to do in games that I ended up winning), starting with the ones that seem the least trustworthy (who are near me). All it takes is to talk a lot to everyone and make detailed plans and evaluations with everyone as if you were allied with them. Fear mongering helps too, especially if there is a juggernaut. Germany is probably my favorite country to play.
Update: I've finally modded Crusader Kings 2 to the point where I like it.
I'm playing as the last surviving Irish Pagan from a long dynasty that was all but eliminated by the pope and the Catholics as they swept through the British Islands.
Starting in 867 (Old Gods DLC), I'm gonna try to spread the dynasty and the celtic pagan influence across europe and the catholic empire. haha.
Fun game. I like games that allow you to tweak them and make them your own.

I am although i have not played in several thousand years. Never played online (due to lack of time). Played Warcraft an Diable several decades ago lol.
I bought a PS4 and I am currently playing the beta Final Fantasy 14.
Planning to buy it in april or Elder Scrolls.
problem with elder is that i dont think it will be cross platform.
For Pc I might give it a try to Rift and really considering Guild Wars 2 for the World versus World.

Out of curiosity, has anyone heard of Wurm Online? I don't dare assume anyone here has played it, but I'd be impressed if anyone has at least heard of it. I haven't played in years, but I used to be on that daily.
I am not a huge fan of MMO's because I always feel pressure to play to keep up with everyone else!
Elder Scrolls Online looks awesome, but I really really hope they continue releasing their province-based single player RPG's. After the success of Skyrim, I can't imagine they won't...

but it is the same with PPM ... if you dont play often you fall behind.
PvE MMMO like final fantasy dont have that pressure.
I played brower rpgs before I had to get up in the middle of night to save my troops or even dont sleep. That kind of pressure is fun for a while but then it is exhausting.
I have not played PvP like Elder Scrolls online or Guild Wars 2 so i dont know if i could do that neither.
if you have PS4, final fantasy is free this week as beta.

What you say is true... but "often" in PPM means like at least once a day... "often" in most MMO's could mean 8+ hours a day O_o
I have stayed away from consoles for years now but might be tempted to get one in the near future!

lol some of the games thrown out there in this thread are pretty far off the beaten path. If I were a psychologist, I would totally conduct a study on games. I would imagine that you can make a lot of interesting corollaries between the sort of games people like, and how they are in real life.
I play this silly little online game called swords and potions. Its gotta be one of the most boring games ever. But its mindless and the politics that goes on in the background would make dune look like a kindergarten book. Anyone ever comes over to there shoot me a ingame message and I will get you set up in the guild I am in. LOL
