I can't understand how to earn good money in this game. I have a big stadium now, 34,000 and growing, yet I find myself drowning in staff salaries and stadium fees.
How are you guys pulling such high weekly income from sponsers etc? I finally have marketing staffed at a decent skill percentage, what else should I be doing to draw significant income?
Seems like I am always treading water. I am hopeful at how well my players are developing, and have made some very high sales. Just seems there has to be more considering some teams are maxing out key areas of facilities, staff, and stadium.
Thanks

Make sure you have a high staff percentage for marketing, and that you have press centers on every section. The better your team places in the standings the better the sponsorship offer and I am pretty sure doing better in the standings than other teams statistically better makes a difference as well(I am not positive though). If you are not selling out your stadium every league home game then do not upgrade, and if you are selling out then you need to upgrade. I have started capping staff overall because it bases salary off of that, because I noticed that like a 50 50 is around 40k I think whereas a 60 60 is around like 70k a day or so. Maintenance facility helps on stadium and facility maintenance by 2% so thats a possibility to help out with costs. hope this helps
what i dont understand is how salary works.
I know (or ate least i think i know) the salary is based on the highest player attribute.
What i dont get is that i have purchased player from another country with high Or that has extremely low salary and that is what i dont get.
Dominik Krawczyński OR 648, highest attribute 192 and salary as low as 3800
his salary is only higher than my 15 and 16 year old players. His Or is the 7th highest in my team.
If someone can explain this .....

I personally think you are burning money by upgrading your stands halfway.
why do you say that? His triple floor are almost fully developed.
I, personally, started 2 triple levels half way. My logic is that is cost the same if i build that way, just take longer. Since I dont plan to upgrade those 2 in a long while, my logic is that those would provide more ticket money until I am ready to upgrade my medium ones to fully triple floor capacities.
he is somewhat doing the same i plan (granted my 3rd triple floor will be a 10k capacity one)
you say he is burning because his stadium is often under construction and no ticket revenue from it?

Kilerpuck,
I thank you for your post, so I should be saving up for buidling it to maximum capacity right away? I did not realize that mattered. That is good to know.
Can you look at my team and tell me anything else I should do? I am down to about 15 mil, with 2.5 a day expenses. Like I was saying I feel I am trading water.
I am looking forward to see if I get a significant income boost after this season having press boxes for the first time for a full season.
And thank you Bull4ever (Chicago sports fan overall? How bout them Hawks1!! lol)
Thank you also mrbright.

the salary for each player is at the start of their contract. So it is possible that he had that 192 attribute low before his contract and then raised it after it signed the low salary contract
Not entirely sure on your situation but I had staff salaries really killing me for a while (few guys over 100k). I trimmed those costs, a significant amount of $$$ for a marginal gain in their field. Once I get my facilities caught up with the big boys I plan on hanging onto staff a little longer, but until then once they get up there I let them walk and replace them with someone cheaper.
Try to make sure your stands are finished by the time the sponsorship offers come in, if I remember right if it is not complete it counts as 0 seats, and the # of seats is factored into that calculation... Maybe someone can confirm that for me?

It would help to invest more in HR.
It would be interesting to compare sponsors since I took the opposite route and focused on HR and marketing before starting to work on maximizing my stadium. I get about 14.5 million per week from sponsors and have just this season started to focus on upgrading my stands from large stand-ups to triples. Of course, that doesn't take into account the larger revenue from home games in a larger stadium.

I think my league ranking, OTR, and staff were probably close enough towards yours from last season, though I might have had a slighty higher effect from those factors.
he has been in the same team until i bought him at age 26 already signed a 3 year contract.
I try to buy staff whose salaries are "equivalent" to my facilities levels. That is: at level 10 training having a 99 coach would not be ideal.
Figure that raising my own staff and only buy the essential would be the way to go to keep salaries low.
I have, coaching efficiency for example, 70/70 paying 60k for two coaches.

Well when you upgrade stands, you have to demolish the stand, which you lose money on and like you said, their is no money generated when it is under construction. If you have to upgrade several times, that's losing money from demolishing and from no revenue generated. Ticket sales generate the second most money for me.
I'm no master of the game and I didn't really pay attention to what Boilermakers or Corona did. I'm not sure if it's the best financial strategy, but I'm satisfied with how it's gone.

I get about the demolishing and getting only 50% of the money invested bacck. But i go the idea that the bad thing was to first build a 4k triple floor to them upgrade to 10k. And for that, i only see the extra time to build it as bad thing as no need to demolish anything.
plus, if build 4k before, we can build a VIP faster. (not sure if sponsor stops while the upgrading is being built)
I personally would never build anything higher than medium stand other than an upgrade to triple level.
the advantage of medium is to be able to build a press center. anything higher than medium would be better saving the money for triple. That is my opinion on how to build the stadium.

note: i built one Large stand to get extra money from sponsor but sort of regret. should have just done medium. Since that is going to be the last one to be upgraded to triple floor it wont be that big of deal regarding to losing money to demolish it.
