You're right, to make it closer so people don't suspect I poisoned your team hence their epic collapse.
Hahaha XD
Good thing then that there'll be only 1750 fans in the arena to see that, not 20000
I always knew it was best for me not to get that thing bigger!

Haha agreed. You're better off not getting the 9.6M/game plus 20M/week because of it.
To be honest, you've played your hand perfectly given your late arrival. Done way better than I could have. I applaud your efforts and stating the above was only done to make me feel better given I will likely lose to a much younger team in the final indicating, nay confirming, I'm a failure as a manager.

No matter whether you would have done better or worst than me, you're still one of the guys if not the one that I respect the most around here. And you'll win that 3rd game, you know it
The only thing I'll ever take credit for is having the guts to say "you're wrong" to all these well intentioned veterans who kept telling me "don't buy old/low CL players and focus on your facilities".
The rest of it has just been luck combined with rationnal thinking...and making sure no long term plan ever got in the way of winning the next game.
But thanks, that's always nice to hear

Perhaps with all your winnings you should invest in that barn you call an arena
.

I've just started that, actually (that's why my capacity stands at 1750 instead of 2000)! Section A is underway, more to follow...

And thanks for the kind words. But it's not going to help, I'm not going to put in my #3 goalie.
I'll have you know though. I sold Garnett a few years ago to Kenora Thistles who took a similar path as you. He just won II.2 and Garnett posted a 1.5 GAA and greater than .950sv% in the playoffs. I think I sold the wrong goalie...

I had a look and saw that. Do 3 or 4 a season. That's within reach. Then upgrade them. I was at lvl 13s for the longest time because of it. Also have a massive gap in my prospects but the cash is flowing because of it. Well, that and my 20% CWC bonus the past two seasons (gone next season though booooo).
By the way, since you pick up older EXP players who are good... have a look at the two (TWIN) D-men I just added to the transfer list. Fantastic PP guys. I'd like for them to find a good home. They have fantastic shooting, likely would add 70% to your line shooting strength and increase your PP% by a factor or 4 or 5.
Yup, the long term financial benefits are obvious. But I'm managing this club with a budget of roughly 10m/week. Somehow it has to be enough for me to both keep improving my facilities and to buy 2-3 players every season to keep up with the better qualities and training centers of the older teams.
The thing is, if one day I want my sponsors to be a bit more generous, I'll have to get that arena bigger. So I will... slowly, very slowly, but surely.

Well whatever you're doing is working, keep it up!
Oh and thanks for the notice! But I'm not sure it's a good fit. The average EXP of my top 6 Dmen is 172. When you consider that and the OR, Clench and Dryden would be at best my new third line Dmen. Probably not worth what they will cost me, especially since people tend to overpay for players with a high shooting att (to give you an idea of what I'm looking for, yesterday I bought Jan Miterko, 500D-250P-250A and 150exp, 24m).
Had I more money, I would absolutely jump on them only to have more Canadian players and maybe add some punch to my PP, but for now I have other priorities.

You're better win tomorrow or P/R or I'll be on your way to I.1 next seasons... Though with Vancouver Giants coming in, that won't help my plans even though one of you is leaving. We get strongest team from I.1, doesn't help...
I made huge mistake earlier this season upgrading regen instead of stadium. All my cash is now dedicated to stadium until I reach 20,000, even if it means more seasons to II.2... I'll go bankrupt otherwise in a few season without new income...
TBH, staying in II.4 is probably the best thing that could happen to me. It means I can spend less on transfers and more on facilities while still being near or at the top of the standings.
But I would have prefered the Giants to stay where they were, no doubt
