It's hard to say anything precise about CL, training, and regeneration at this point. I don't think that there is a perfectly linear relation such that effective quality should be divided in half for 3/6 CL. A while back, I looked at the growth over the course of the season of all the players I had scouted for the national team and for my own team. Average growth rates (after attempting to separate all other factors other than CL by using players from my team with similar qualities and facilities) did not fall significantly from 6 to 4 but fell significantly from 4 to 3 and lower. In addition, a 5/6 21 year old is not necessarily better than a 4/6 17 year old for training in the short run. You also have to consider the expected future CL path (this is probably more important than the immediate effect of CL on EQ), and there is a fair amount of uncertainty involved (unless you wanted to create a distribution of EQ relative to potential CL paths). With all that said, I think it's better to have two separate columns for CL and EQ.

As for facilities, I think that each level is worth about, very roughly, .2 OR per day, with smaller increases for the lower levels below 12 or so.

Yep... separate columns for everything is the plan. The eOR and EQ are just helpful "value summary" ratios that I'll add in for quick comparisons. Everything from facility levels (training and regen) to specific qualities and values are being accurately logged.

And yeah I think the CL effect on training is more of a logarithmic relationship.

Oyyyyy. The EOR calc is sooooo freaking heavy. Google Sheets strains badly whenever I try to copy the formula (so it can be used for more than one player). The "limiting factor" of the EOR is what does it. There's not a quick/simple way to have that modeled in a spreadsheet.

I set it up so that there were 10 EOR and 10 EQ classifications: 1 for goalie, and 3 for backs, wings, and pivots (2-way, offensive, and defensive specialties). I might actually have to back that out to just 4... because the sheet keeps freezing on me.

... granted I could try closing some of the 80+ tabs I have open... but I figure this is a good stress test for the sheet anyways...

What if you dropped the 2-way's. If you look at the national team rosters of the previous champions, there don't seem to be many two way players.

I feel like I'm in college again... and I didn't save my 20 page term paper... and my computer crashed.

I just ran one of the scripts in the sheet to make sure everything was working alright, completely forgetting that i had the "clearsheet" command in the script.

All the formulas that I did for EOR and EQ... gone. poof. Can't undo... can't revert. Fucking cloud.

I was freaking done with it. Now it'll take me several hours just to get back to where I was moments ago...

I guess that's what I get for working on this stuff while I'm at work and half distracted.

Have you tried to restore using version history?

I believe it's Ctrl+Alt+Shift+G (or under the File menu) in Google sheets.

Edit: I'm assuming you have, but never hurts to check.

You're a lifesaver, Obryantj. I had checked the version history... but after your post, I tried again and realized that there's a "show more detailed revisions" option under there.

The script alteration wasn't under the standard version history, but it was tucked away under the detailed one. Thank god. I don't have to recreate those damn formulas.

Now I'm just optimizing it a bit, making sure that the scripts don't wipe anything again, and then I'll be ready to release it for everyone to start importing their scouting info into it.

Okay. I'm gonna post this here, mostly because this is where I've been talking about it (even though the youth teams aren't ready yet, and this really benefits the Senior National Team manager the most at this time.

The launch is finally ready. The private version of the sheet (for the national team manager) is still kind of buggy... but I think that's mostly because I scripted and built it in an older version of firefox, and regularly run with a ton (close to 100) tabs open. I'm hoping that it's not actually as twitchy for Mr. Brightside as it's been for me.

The player upload function and public version of the sheet works flawlessly (and pretty quickly too) from what I can tell though.

You shouldn't need a google/gmail/etc. account to import players. You should be able to do that
