Lots of good points on this thread. I have started following slacklar's salary saving strategy with my prospect players. 1:1 tech/shoot as canucks357 suggested is something else that I employ. I also agree with saint2e about the importance of tech for defencemen.
But the point I would like to make, is the importance of investing in you Training Facilities. I think Team Canada is falling behind other countries because Canadian clubs are not worrying enough about their facilities. We are starting to see players with OR 500 in other countries while we only have a handful above 400 OR in our own.

I agree. Facility development is important. However, since I'm a good three-and-a-half seasons behind you guys, I've had to adopt a different development strategy: I hold fewer Canadian players, and use the international market to keep my team competitive (I know that some of you call this a sell out). This allows my team to be more competitive faster (and garner better sponsorship money faster) which translates into faster facility development. I maintain training on Canadian players by keeping my best and only sending my Best Canadians to Training Camp.

this is true Emile because I"m always in a race againts better team since my first season. I do realy well right now but I'm going one level up because of it. So transfert is a good way to keep level up and get trophy and sponsors and ... I do my best to train some canadien legend but can't go as far as you like them 500 lol my best canadien is at 250 it give you an idea of how much time it will take to get a 500 one
You use the market to improve your team quicker. All the while not neglecting your Training, Regen and Academy. Then after a few seasons you start letting your international players go because your drafting up studs instead of duds. It's a winning method because it has burst success and then winds up being successful in the long run too.
I went from not having one Canadian on my lines last season, to having a Canadian captain I drafted, and at least five others if not more playing. And a handful of prospects who will make my lines probably later this season.

I'm just going to put in my input on this, based on what I have found over the past 5 seasons. I have had two players with similar builds ALWAYS by each other in team scoring, and have been my top two leading scorers 3 out of the 5 seasons.
I'm thinking that with the way I am training them now, they will be VERY good, and want input on my training strategies.
I am training 5-3-2-2 for my wingers.
(off, tech, agr, shot)
Right now, Carl Tessier has a build of 107-56-41-39, and has 4 points (2G, 2A) and a 28.7 Sh%.
Oliver Demers has a build of 106-51-41-33, also has 2G, 2A, but has a Sh% of only 16.7%
