I saw the players selling simply because I watch the market, not even every day, but still it didn't take some secret knowledge to see these players were being sold. I don't see what this perceived imbalance is except that some people were watching the market closer than others. So what?

You even said yourself you would have bought them if you saw them, but it wouldn't have been too hard to see them. There is no announcement made if a team sells their star player, you have to keep watching for a player to go on sale, i don't see how this is any different myself.

And it's not like they are all gone, it looks like they are doing all the players on the team, but doing the teams in some random order, for example, Iowa Wild's players are on sale now, all with 130 hours left on them.

My concern is that the prices they are going for clearly show that there are only a few teams paying attention to this and making a large sum of money of off it. Remember that not everyone is awake at the hour they sold at, especially in the countries that have the most people that play this game. The U.S. players should have been awake, but the U.S. players don't have any managers compared to the rest of the world, where it was much, much later in the day. So the fact that you saw them is more or less irrelevant. For starters, the player sales should be spaced out so more people from more countries have the best opportunity to see them, and you can't expect every market user to scroll through all the pages and understand what's happening, even with searches.

The "perceived imbalance" is when a team buys more than 50 players at prices far below fair market value (despite them being on the market).

My point regarding the fact that I would've done the same thing doesn't change the fact that even if I had done so I would want it corrected. In my opinion it's bad for the game when wealth is distributed poorly because of circumstances like this. In 50 days there are people that will be making dollar amounts into the hundreds of millions.

So how are there few teams active when these sales are still going on right now? It's not like this is a "oops I missed out" thing. the teams that buy high OR crap and peddle them to other teams, guess what they are searching for high OR junk all the time, and still probably would have gotten just as many players at the end of the year when teams regularly sell off extras.

I can't see how it's a problem in the game design when the market is there, freely viewable by all for you to find and get in on some of these deals. Are you saying you would have actually bid on any of those 50 players one team got? Or is it just because of this percieved "Day traders are bad" feeling? If this is a day trader issue, I still don't think that is a problem either, but that's just me.

I don't see how the devs can be blamed because some people were checking the market and others weren't. You make it sound like these players were sold off in 15 minutes and you never had a chance. I don't know how they are all set up, but like i said the Iowa Wild players have 131 hours left. So let's assume all teams sales windows were the same, you mean at the very least 4 days of being on the market isn't enough time for you to get in on bidding?

so to answer my own question, I found one of these players who had gone through the sales process already. He was "terminated" from his defunct team on 6/24, and sale completed on 7/2. So that certainly seems like plenty of time to find these players for those who are interested...

It still doesn't address the quantity of players and price. It's good now that there are more people aware of it, prices should start to come up slightly, there are just too many players well under market value that there aren't enough teams to buy them and guys will end up going for 10k each.

I don't have a day trader problem at all, unless there are thousands of 250 OR players on the market for 10k. In a little while 250 OR players won't be as valuable. But right now at this time this is a big problem for the wealth of the game.

It's ok, we're not on the same page with the actual problem. I'll let the devs decide if it's a problem at this point. Until then I suppose I have no choice but to try and keep pace and buy as many as possible.

Yeah, all of these sales needed to be staggered much better... it has really watered down the market. Guys who would have sold for millions and millions just a week ago, can go for pennies now.

Just another example of how lack of forethought can ruin a good part of the game

Yep... feel your pain.

Again, i don't see how it's shortsighted, and I believe they said it was going to happen last season. (I thought it would actually start last season) so i'm not surprised.

But if you guys are upset because you are not getting the max value for the players you want to sell and someone else is going to profit and you aren't, there is nothing I can say.

It's shortsighted because a load of "good" players became available on the market at the same time, and anybody who was not around at the time missed out. It meant that people could, and from what i read, did pick up quite a few great players for next to nothing.

It was shortsighted because

a) they should have staggered the players across a 24hr time slot, and
b) they clearly did not think in advance to what would happen when they all hit the market at the same time.

Do you think it's good for the game that a player last week would have sold for 10M-20M, yesterday sold for under 100k? This has the potential to warp the economy for this season.

They are not all on sale, look at the defunct teams, some have already sold players off, some are just starting, and some still have 250 plus players on them. I'd like to see where "All the players were on sale at the same time"

Considering they are on sale for 7 days, and i've seen some starting on 6/24, 6/30, etc?

So I think I understand now the problem
A) you have players YOU want to sell
B) You are not going to get as much as you hoped for them
C) you are afraid people will buy them for cheap and sell for profit

To me, that's called a free market.
