strange results are OK, but what's not OK is how many they are...it's OK if that happen once/twice a season, but not 9 times! that's a 25% and that's a huge number...
SlovakMasters , look at this team, he has better stars than first team in Slovak first league, and he is 16th, in those 9 games, he pick the right counter-tactic, and had twice shots than the opponents...that's not OK

or like a maximum(hot streak) form of 5/5 and when he has a normal form he is 5/3 and when he is out of form(cold streak) he is 5/1. maybe something like that is implemented in the match engine.

@santar: You may be disappointed with your pulls, but many people are. I didn't pull anything good for a very long time, too. But you still keep building your sports academy where you could have bought a lot of good players from the maket, since you play in league 1 you surely have enough money to do so. And why don't you buy them? Because you are frightened to loose you "facility advantage". If you want to build up your team with your own academy players as a philosophy, well there is of course a risk to this, no need to complain here.

@memory: That's a good example actually, because it shows that more shots don't necessarily mean more goals. The goalies play a big role, too. There are many factors, one is that a team can't play every tactic equally good. Everyone here is trying to find the "countertactic". Of course it did work for the top teams in the beginning, now that the game starts to become a little bit more complicated you go crazy because things don't work as simple as they did before. I for my short experience know that my team can play some tactics better than others, even if countered they do fine with certain tactics.

this only shows how many varieties have match engine and how many things you can't influence

there's nothing like some tactic is better and some worse for team, every tactic have the same impact on team: ZERO, one and only exception is that teams pick each other counter-tactic...

on Slovak forum is now debate on tactic change, that is planned for this summer and one possibility is to change tactics to have some impact on team rating, but even now it's only one of many possibilities, nothing for sure

i am not sure it is true and in fact i don't hope its true but when i look to the dutch teams, it is strange that the teams that pull their players early in the morning have better players then the teams who pull their players later on the day.

we have a big discussion now in the dutch forums and one thing that we noticed was that some pull at 6;30 in the morning and they are far more lucky then some other players. maybe it is luck, but i still find it strange that they get better players then the ones who pull later on. maybe PPM system creates a X number of players every day, and that should mean that you have more chance of getting better players in the morning. I heard that Hattrick has a simular system.

again something that the Devs maybe can tell something about. should be fair i guess.

According to the guide you can train your team to play some tactics better.

many things in a guide are not as they work for real
if there was nothing like this, everyone will train their team in same way, I think devs would like to prevent this to happen

He'd sent his players to camp. I think he had around 20 in defence and 35+ in offence. Clearly I should have won with alot more than 3-1. This shows that if you have a great offence compared to defence countertactics is the best choice

Who cares?? I care. There shouldn't be so much disproportion between getting quality players if it is all random granting. And there we have something which Santar already told us - this will become "buy - sell" game, therefore the game loses it's fine spirit. What's next ? Everything will be subordinated to market: Advertising on any place and in any way, building up primary attys so the newbies will spend their money over some crappy players which will kill their wish for playing later.
A team hasn't got his best tactic, it's all about counter tactic.
I can deal with fact that stronger team beat my team, therefore everybody try to make his team best possible. If it's not the case then I'm confused and start to mock over the game engine. I don't like to see this kind of behavior here, further more that would mean our time spent here and brainstorming was useless.

Of course I buy players because the ones from my academy suck Since you checked the league I´m playing in, you should have checked my transfer history too I have to buy if I want to stay competitive. 8 out of 22 from my 1st line up are foreign players. But don´t miss the point here. If I had the same luck as some, I never had to. I´m sure it wasn´t intended that SA would make that huge difference between teams. And that only because of luck. Nothing to do with managerial skills/abilities/tactical decisions. This should be management game after all, no? And not a lottery machine?

You are saying that there actually is "a tactic that suits the team". This is where I would like to get some confirmation and mostly from the developers themselves. Do I remember wrong, but was it actually stated somewhere that there is no such tactic? Correct if I´m wrong.

Agreed 100% about the sports academy.

Its ridiclous the amount of money not only in soccer, but also in hockey we pump into it to up our chances of better players.

The fact that it seems to be random makes a mockery of strategic thinking on the managers behalf, as well as losing a lot of cash on the basis that we "might" get a decent pull.

Simply put, the standard of player coming from an SA of level 5 can be the same as someone with an SA of level 10...

How is this fair?

it's only one game, that doesn't proof anything...If you will play with him another game with same players you have then, it will end entirely different

No it doesn't prove that I'm right. But i still believe that I am. I've also noticed that my team can't play some tactics as good as others. I believe that the game works that way.

about the strange results, there's like 30% of upsets in our Belgian league, this number is growing too big, period!
