i might go thru the div 2 drafts from a few seasons back but i doubt that it will dredge up much...
He's not "special", but he's a goalie with 96/94/76 for qualities, so he's probably going to be 620-650 OR or so at the start of the next season (800+ @ 18). It's not great, but like I said, best I've got so far. A contingency plan of sorts.
yeah thanks. Still, we have been spoiled. we have basically 4 guys to pick from this season, all mid to high 900s, and internationally that seems to be just ok. i dont know the euro goalie's training numbers but his OR is 750 now at 17. we are spoiled and thus we expect more...
In Round 2, we are pleased to select:
McLoughlin - C - 17 - Les Bouboulles
Tracey - UW - 17 - M Nanosurgeons
Heck - RW - 17 - Les Bouboulles
Lemieux - LW - 17 - M Sasquatch
Montgomery - UW - 18 - Mandalorians
Cornwell - UW - 17 - RC Redshift
Helms - RD - 18 - Colorado Av (Svk. III.6)
Henderson - LD - 17 - Levis Filibusters
Gauthier - G - 17 - Colorado Av (Svk. II.4)
More before the weekend. We really aren't proud of Gauthier and really don't like the idea of him being our only guy but so far that is the case. If anyone knows of ANY 17 year old Canuck keeper, please drop me a line!

In Round 3, we've got -
Longstaff - C - 17 - M Sasquatch
Hamel - C - 17 - Reflex Du Montreal
Dean - LD - 17 - M Sasquatch
Koyle - RW - 18 - Gaba Devils (Czech III.16)
Skingsley - RW - 17 - Krefield Penguins (Germ. II.4)
Still a handful of guys in the scouting queue so that will get us through the weekend. We will add a few more guys next week to help complete the illusion of professionalism that we have worked so hard to create. Included next week will be a handful of top 16 year old's so that the team can open against Austria next season with all guns firing so, again, please let us know if you have a sure thing for next season's campaign.

As for this season's U18 team we are very shallow at center and that is a big concern. Goaltending looks okay and the defence situation is very good although next season will not be what we would like. We have wingers up the bum...
It's okay, there are a few holes in the U20 line-up, too. Lots of players with high OR but 1 lousy stat that kind of breaks them. I think we got used to the steady influx we had when the game was a bti more active, and now we're getting less prospects, the drafts suck more, and it's starting to show.
I got 2 4-star youth pulls over the past 2 weeks, and they both have 1 important quality that's below 60 (or have the wrong skill distribution for their potential). I think the game is just trolling me at this point xD

I have had one 3 star pull in the past 12-13 weeks. And boy I sure can't wait to put up that Level 14 Sports Academy...!
The team this season will probably be even younger than last season's. Two reasons - first is that we didn't see a lot more at the 18 age level to pick from, whereas there was a large crop of 17 year old's. Most important reason is that we start this season with all those returning (esp. d-men) guys with big chemistry to start with, springboarding all the 17 year old blueliners of this season. Next season we will have the same condition on the wing and that will help on a rolling, seasonal basis, as long as the kids get lots of ice time in the friendlies. We will make sure that they get LOTS...
In contrast to my cursed Sports Academy though, I have been amazingly fortunate with the draft. Almost every one of the young Canadians on my team are something like 10th overall picks that turned out to have very nice numbers and were keepers. The hockey Gods giveth and, unfortunately considering the huge costs of building, they taketh away on the Academy...
Need a break before the uni year kicks in so will take a week off and mosey on down to the SW to my favourite little farmhouse/guesthouse on the Burmese border for basic food, good air and toe gazing. Clit will take over the team for the Russian encounter but, should he fail to do so, the nation of Canada will suffer. Not sure about the wifi situation down there but with outdoor plumbing and grade school education we can expect it to be a tad rustic...
Ugh! Added players to the roster but failed to remember to do the call-up's in time. My mistake and apologies to the GM's involved...
Well, my toes are okay and the wifi was better than expected. John and I are well short of perfect but we have scouted/mailed heavily and have reached the end of the list. Should we have missed someone PLEASE let us know but hopefully anyone obvious is on the team. Two more guys for the ride and the first of the 16 year old's, but I will continue to use some of my (grumble, grumble...) club scouting resources (although I really think there should be some sort of allowance for national team GM's...) to scout any sweet looking 16 year old's for next season's team. Please save me the resource by sending any potential guy's numbers beforehand. We still have 7 slots or so and esp. Cochrane from the Mandalorians is a really tough exclusion from the team so, should McClennen break his leg in the next week we will consider making a switch. Any teams ghosting out on the tide line please let us know and we will save any players of note from purgatory.
