Asunto: U18 Canada National Team

Everything about you is cowardly and indirect. You’re trying to excuse your insults as “facts”. All the messages prior to this you insult various people here indirectly or with veiled comments.

Now you’re having a little hissy fit about being called out on it.

Ladies and gentlemen. On a lighter note, this season's U18 team is ready to rock and roll.!
As stated before, we will be using strategies from the past, and some new ones that were used last season.
It is hoped that the combination of the two will give us some sort of small advantage in the tournament.

Note the "reported to moderator" comment above. When I suggested that Samuel Carrier go [drops the f bomb} himself, that was not meant as an insult. It was meant as a positive suggestion, like an "action plan".

Under PPM rules, we are not allowed to insult other managers on this board. Well I don't think I did. An insult is something defined as "speak to or treat with disrespect or scornful abuse". Let's scan a few pages here: "little snowflake loser" (Bobo), Paul is "sad" (Sammy), "your toxic attitude" (Sammy), my "poor reading comprehension" (Bobo), "ramblings of a loser" (Bobo), "Not everyone turns into a crotchety old ass who hates what they used to like as they age. Paul, maybe you should do some self reflection on why your comments are the ones getting flagged, and why there isn't anyone else here that ever agrees or sides with you.

You're the one who started all the insults by referring to everyone who doesn't agree with you about elections and NT's as insects and insinuating they were creepy (I can't remember the exact wording as you've been moaning about this for literal years at this point) and other things.

You can say you didn't insult anyone and lie about your intent, but it's obvious you've insulted numerous other managers in this thread and others multiple times.

I will try to address you civilly. Here's the history, one more time:

I stepped away from the National Scene about five calendar years ago. I challenged the other long-term National managers to do the same, citing the same argument that the new managers should have a chance. The Bobby Jays, Samuel Carriers, Krokadors and George/Joanne (or whomever) ignored me and just kept on partying. I didn't insult them, I went Lithuania then Holland and I stayed away from the Canadian team.

Over the years I saw Bobby's name show up more and more. Finally two years ago I blew and went nuclear when I conclusively learned that Samuel was just lending his name to Bobby so that Bobby could run two of the teams. I sarcastically suggested then that the PPM brass should remove the one "one assistant cap" rule so that Bobby could run all of our teams. I went after Bobby big time and the insults flew. They should. I targetted Scammy as well. Why not? That's really bad.

Finally this past season, a manager (Mat) beats Bobby fair and square. The 21 consecutive seasons of Bobby in charge come to an end. Roedb is very, very happy. Four weeks into the season, Bobby goes on the boards and the messages just flow. Subtextual, between-the-lines messages are clear, to anyone who actually reads them. Bobby is very unhappy. Bobby is doing anything he can to question the new boss and keep his own name relevant. Does anyone actually know Bobby's real age?

Yes I went nuclear again. Someone should. You other managers suggest that Bobby wins because no one else (usually) runs. Think about a line-up for a ride at the fair. The fat, rich kid on the ride finishes his turn, starts whining, and his Dad (think Scammy here) slips the operator ten bucks to keep the ride going. He does this, what, 21 times? After that many rides, how many of the poor kids from town do you think are still waiting their turn.

The amusement park is dying folks. Guess why? There you go Boba, I reflected.

The major flaw in your argument is thinking the management of the national teams is what’s causing this game in Canada to slowly die. It’s not. There are 3 national teams, which 3 people can manage. It doesn’t matter who manages them, rotating managers out isn’t going to attract new people or keep people from leaving.

The developers caused this by abandoning the game and not trying to attract new players.

Has there ever been more than 5 (for people running for an NT manager in a season?

I ran a handball national team once. It was just a bunch of extra work and more annoying than anything. I would guess most of the managers here don’t care about running an NT team.

You don't understand, do you? Bobby was running two of the national teams at the same time, for who knows how long? He and Samuel and Krokador and George/Joanne ran the national scene for calendar YEARS. They took on no assistants. They never offered to share. They voted for each other. What about this is hard to understand! Check the history tab for the three national teams. It's all the SAME FOUR NAMES!

You say my flaw is that this rot is the reason for the Canadian game decline. Really?! Prove it. Can't you see this from a new guy's perspective or are you just too far removed. Your team is shit. It takes forever to build up a team's infrastructure. You get the shit kicked out of you by the big boys in the game every second night. They tell you to sell them your only talented players and use the money to build. Bobby sends you emails/memoirs called "If I Could Start Again" telling you how to play the game...

And the only avenue that could you some sense of satisfaction, since it is the only (basically) fair game option between new and long-term managers is the National game.

But that's off limits. You can't play that game. That's Samuel's and Krokodar and George/Joanne and ESPECIALLY the Bobby's private little playground.

Canadian National Hockey - by the numbers

No insults. I will take a page from Bobby and just break down some basic facts that anyone can go check.

I joined the Canadian National scene in season 24. It is now season 54. So that means 31 seasons, which means a total of 93 national team manager spots during this time. Let's break it down!

My math is bad. Bobby Jay has not won 21 times, he has won 27 times. The only misses during those 31 seasons were seasons 24-26 (he didn't run), and last season where he lost. Scroll back four or five pages here and check out his reaction to seeing his 26-0 record getting blemished and you can understand why I am here right now.

The above mentioned managers (Samuel Carrier, Krokador and George/Jeanne) won another 24 elections during this time. This (plus Bobby) are my frequent reference to the "old boys" of Canada PPM. The monopoly. I don't know how many of their national teams were run by them or by Bobby in the background. You would have to ask Samuel about that, as well as George/Jeanne (if this was a real team...), but that manager is gone anyways. So we are at 51/93.

Now let's add some more. I won 9. Yup, but I walked away in Season 38 in disgust and suggested other managers share the spots. The two new guys are exempt here because there is no competition anymore (Nkullar 5 and Loraxx 4). The only anomaly here is Crease Monkeys who won 8 straight but I will remind you that his run came after Krokador and George/Jeanne had left the game. I.e. someone had to win. Canuck 357 won 2 (for new managers, this is the godfather of Canada PPM so when he ran, he won. No question. Coincidentally, as I have mentioned, he has sadly left the game. His team, Ontario Alpha Particles, is now run and votes nationally by the caretaker manager...namely...ahem...Bobby Jay). So add 28.

Total: 79/93. Eeeesshh. That's 85%. Good luck to any new manager over those ten years of ever getting their hands on a position...

Hey Kraafty! Why are you here? I thought you didn't care about the national game. I am not posting on the 1.I board. None of your business.

To any new guys to this game: run against the guys who run the teams. Make friends with other managers and build up a campaign. It takes time but it is worth it. If you would like, drop me a line and come on down to Holland. I would be happy to have an assistant. If the Dutch guys agree, I will groom you and give you the team. You also might want to check on Jetstar in 2.I. He moved on to Portugal and runs the senior team over there. The national teams are perhaps the most fun part of this game. Get one and find out for yourself!

Actually Kraafty, let me elaborate for a moment. You told me you don't care about the national teams. Good for you. You're a real patriot. Now you tell me that NO ONE cares about the national teams. Yet here you are...am I missing something? I will post what I please. And you can message Europe and ask them to delete my messages. You do as you please too. Didn't you hear Bobby? Free speech is what makes Canada great...

You brought up my original issue with you in this post. Ignoring your issues with the NT managers for a moment. You come on the boards and tell everyone how the actual game is garbage. You tell everyone who reads these that the main game is actually not fun and takes forever to get going. And you tell everyone that the only real fun are the National Team management spots. Of which there are 3.

Complaining about NT managers ruining the game, while actively shitting on the main game is not going to attract or keep new managers.

This was my original issue with you as you would come on here and yell at other managers and shit on the actual game.

What?! I didn't say the actual game is garbage! I said it takes forever to grow your infrastructure. I said people like Bobby (and you) tell them to sell their best players to you and build. I said that Bobby sends them tutorials on how to play the game. I said the waiting lasts forever. The national teams provides something to do while they wait.

There was a time, Boba, when the gap between a new guy and a long timer was a lot closer. There was also a time when there were three or four divisions and you could work your way up, in a reasonably competitive environment. Those days are gone. Now the gap is massive, and there is zero impetus for a new guy to take the beatings involved to work their way up.

And you think that means I am shitting on the game!? Good fucking lord! No man, the deterioration of the game is what causes this problem. The shrinking manager number creates the gap. You've lost touch man. You don't understand the game anymore.
