Not what I said.
I said that they didn't lessen the R-P-S feel. They may have reduced the importance but one tactic still beats another which beats another, exe. They would basically have to rewrite the game which may take weeks to completely remove the R-P-S.
If you leave your tactics set on one thing the managers that can see that can use the counter tactic to still gain an advantage.
Do you now understand what I am trying to say?

I'd disagree with that, look at my record from regular season for this season. Guess how many tactics I used? 1. So, i think it has for sure been lessened.
I don't think your results are typical. Your TS was number two in the league. Tactics choices become more important when your TS is more similar to your opponents.
That's the point though, it used to be picking the counter tactic could beat someone with higher TS. Plus I beat Goldfish both games this season, the 1st one he had the "correct" counter
I see your point as well. The developers said they lessened the effect (because it was overcoming huge TS differences too often) and I believe that it has been lessened but the RNG still has wild swings.
And as for Goldfish... I have no idea whats going on with him, but the RNG hates him. He loses far more games with huge disparity than any other team I know
Especially in the playoffs.

Maybe it's a sea creature thing. call him the San Jose Goldfish ;P
Oh man do I know what you mean. Another post season bust. Have to give props to the Canuckleheads though, they have some serious talent as well. Luongo was strong when he had to be.
I don't disagree with the fact that the importance of tactics was reduced however I think the R-P-S is still present. Look at my team history. Season 2 was the last season I changed my tactics consistantly to counter the other team. Since I have hardly changed my tactics. The only reason why I got promoted is because they did lesson the importance of tactics. I used the same tactic almost the whole season.
I love how statistics completely befuddle people. I'm sure that the game engine is built to give any lesser team at least a small chance of winning. So even if a 600 OR is playing the right tactic against a 200 OR, the 200 OR has some small (5%?) chance of winning. The problem is that humans tend to remember bad beats more then wins. But honestly there should be no shock in the loss, it's within the realm of the possible, and while the 200 OR team winning is the less likely outcome 1 out of 20 are very possible odds. Basically I'm rambling on to say Bad beats are a part of the game, and even if you do everything right they will happen. Someone complaining and asking why their obvious favorite lost is no different than trying to find an answer to why a dice roll come up snake eyes.
