great job ketch! we should have a few 50+ OTS teams by seasons end in this league on that pace.
What determines OTS?
Is that just by the players on my roster? The players filling my lines?

I will be very exact in my definition (you may know most of this already).
Overall Team Strength (OTS) is equal the average of the 4 Team Strength Categories (Offense, Defense, Goaltending, Shooting) rounded up (simply meaning if you have 26.5 as your avg, then it will show 27 OTS).
The stars for the 4 categories are calculated Monday/Wednesday/Friday after a league game is played. The stars will usually be updated at the same time the league "All Star" team is made. So if you see that game days all-star team, that means the stars for the teams in that league have been re-calculated. We are II.2 in Canada and they calculate them in order of country and league starting with Argentina I.1 so it doesn't take much longer than 15 minutes after a game.. so around 12:45 ish our All-Star team and stars will be calculated for our league.
The stars are based on the players who played that league game that day (so during training camp your stars tend to plunge as you have sent your best players to TC. This is also why we believe that the stars are telling you exactly how well you have done in training/picking which players play).
In hockey your stars will NOT change up/down unless your players gain attributes or lose energy. So it doesn't matter if you lose 10-0 again a team you should beat, you will still have the same OTS.
That is why OTS is a good way of figuring out who the teams that will do well are. There are also tactics and energy strategies to take into account (and the random chance in each game).

Thanks Ketch.
My team is far worse than I thought it was.
How does 3 lines/4 lines affect OTS?

So I was the highest seed upset today at the NC.....my first time playing normal all season and it backfires
Since 3 of your 4 categories are based off of the averages of each of the lines that play... playing your 3 best lines means you will have a higher average... and thus a higher OTS. The penalty is that those players on the 3 lines will not train as well that night because they worked harder during the game. I have not seen that big of a decline in player training (though I did notice)... also some people believe that a 3 line team gets more tired during the 3rd.
That stinks man... I lost, to a better team.. but not much of a better team, and I had them in tactics.
I felt like it should have at least been closer.

i lost to a way worse team. sure i was playing on low, but man did my goaling screw the pooch in that game
wow... that's incredible (incredibly sucky). I hate that
Also... your OTS shot up like CRAZY... were you doing a training camp up until recently?
He beat you on tactics though. And it's not like he is totally worse than you. It's not that off
Skillz That Killz - 50 OTS
les soualon de steon - 32 OTS
Skillz is by far the better team...but they were away, played low to soualon's normal, and lost on tactics. Even with that, they still outshot soualon 35-15. It was just bad luck.

Sorry to point it out, but did you just reply to yourself ?
