This season in our league there were two good teams, four bots, and the rest were mediocre teams. So far in the playoffs, the 7th seed has knocked off both the 1st and 2nd place teams.
I understand that upsets happen, and the same is true for real life, but it's the way that it happened that bothered me. Most of my good players came into the playoffs with a little over 80% max energy, and I'm guessing the 2nd place team was a little lower than that. Both of us played all of our playoff games at High intensity with three lines and our opponent played them all with four lines and Low intensity.
We didn't lose these series on tactics or out of random results, this is just a bad match engine rewarding teams for playing low intensity all season long.
What else can it be?

Just looked at the games you lost in the play-offs.
First of all, before these PO 1/2 final games you had played twice on high and 13 times on normal in your 43 games compared to your opponent, who played 44 league games on Low.
Straight off the bat thats a seasonal energy difference of about 8points, in your opponents favour.
That is quite a difference in my opinion, and your players will have been far more tired come the end of a match, which in my experience makes a huge difference to performance.
In your first game that you won, you played high v your opponents low, thus losing further SE going into the next game.
For me, you simply managed your team poorly regarding Seasonal energy compared to your conquerer.
Its a part of the game, and something that should not be taken lightly.
Its an experience you should learn from.
Best to move on, learn from this and not complain about the PPM match engine when there is a perfectly valid reason why you lost in the PO's.
Your team may have had the better stats, but your opponent had much higher energy and could sustain their performance longer throughout a game.
For me, theres nothing random in this at all.

I never said this was random.
I fully understand why I lost, I just disagree that his should be a logical successful strategy. Basically I am being punished because winning was important to me.
