It's happened to me as well, most notably in world championship games!
On any combination of "home" vs "away" matchups, there is about a 12% chance of a tie after regulation. After that, it's about shooters vs goaltenders. It would seem that this game fell into that category. Then, his goalie appears to have been "hot".

I just hate that that happened in a first round elimination game. Gonna be rough for my sponsors for next season.

How'd the shots get THAT skewed? Opposing team is stronger, more experience, and more "offensive" tactics. We ended up going Normal vs Normal in importance, but I didn't even field my Captain because I was basically giving that game up xD Not sure how they ended up with that many penalties, either.

Also... why is my arena not full? Dangit! No wonder I've been struggling with finances >_> Winning all of last season didn't do much for my attendance, apparently

Leagues annoying me this season. Double shots, double goaltending strength. Somehow goes to OT. I won, but still cost me a valuable point. No way should the game have been that close. A 19 year old goalie with no xp shouldn’t be able to do that.

You're only 4 pts out of first. You'll make final-4 in playoffs so long as you don't finish 7th or 8th. In the semis, anything can happen.
