Same here this time.. I tried my luck on 3 of my draftees, but I expect all of three to suck... With avg Qs of 56, 56 and 63... even though this is unscouted, there is little opportunity for this to even get decent. Too bad. I was looking forward to having that "full" time to develop a prospect.
Wow. Your goalie possibly had the worst day of his career right there O_o
Which always seems to be the case in these types of upsets. It's... frustrating.

What would you guys do with this guy? Mathew Dresser
Q's: GOA 35 (98), OFF 110 (98), SHO 53 (787), PAS 79 (98), TEC 75 (99).
So he's either a centre or goalie. I'm torn cause I could use a goalie instead of a center, but he's got so much OR in OFF and SHO already.
Also, how much you think he's worth?

Yeah, that is a tough one... NTs need goalies too, but in the end we just want the players to become the best they can.
The advantage to training as a goalie is that you are training only 3 attributes instead of 4 as a centre. You would be dropping training on shooting which has the lowest imorovement factor. With training facilities at level 15, he would be training at about 2 points a day, depending on staff. At that rate, it would take about 40 days to catch up in the goalie department, but then he would train faster as a goalie than as a centre. T'wer me, I'd take the goalie option especially since he is a 5/6.
Ok, that makes sense, i’ll Go goalie!
Thanks guys!
Thanks guys!
I was just about to say C as it'll take a season to get him to a 2:1:1 goalie and at that point he'd be 16 and of low OR. Also, 787 Q in shot should not be wasted.
Well now I’m conflicted.
And whoops! Didn’t notice that typo! It’s 77 shot q.

Goalies have no need to shoot until after the opposition goalie is pulled !

I would be tempted to go C as well. The fact that we have very few goalies could possibly make him a potential goalie for youngster NTs, but only if we don't have a *real* goalie prospect.
Most likely his OR will be inflated in the early stages because of his high offensive numbers which will not actually help in game.
His chances of making the NTs as a center are higher IMO. And there would be less "wasted points". Getting playing time on national teams would eventually lead to slightly higher training and higher experience making him a better player.
If you go goalie, I think you probably forget U18s, not sure about U20s. But in the long run he may still make a fine goalie.

If one group of four people evenly split $120 every week, and another group of three people evenly split $120 every week, which groups members get richer faster?
True, however all goalies work on that set of rules and all centers work on the other set of rules.
So while the goalie will definately grow his stats more quickly, what matters is how he compares to his peers and not how he compares with centers.
In the end, he has a solid prospect and whichever way he ends up going, he will have a solid player. I just feel he will be more solid as a center than a goalie.

I'm not far enough into scouting the 15/16yo to give a definitive answer to this... maybe train tech until I can tell you for which position we will need him for the most? Haha
Final comment........I think.
Using the present national team players as a guide:
The average OR of the top 5 centres is 3167.
The average OR of the top 5 goalies is 2781.
Given that as a goalie he would train on only 3 attributes, and that as a centre, he would train on 4 attributes where one of those is only 77, it is my calculated belief that the goalie objective is far more achievable. Ultimately, it is not my choice to make.
