And there goes the final rankings for 1st place.
Great game Alex. Was scared you'd win and make things interseting.

Muwahahaha. Come to I.1 Yoshi... I'm ready for a feast!*

OAP firesales all players and relegates to div4 (they create a league just for them) much similar to Norwich City's epic fall from the premier league through double relegation to the third tier in English soccer.
Congrats! You're unstoppable. I don't know how you do. I played high, my guys have higher ratings, my OTS is higher, I was at home, I had > 54% possession, I had more shots.
Yet you managed somehow to get more shots on target and it's a draw.
I'm sure you have kind of magc tricks!!! Hope to see you again I. I.1 next season, who knows...

Get used to it buddy... it ain't much different up here. 3rd OTS finds themselves in 14th spot.
I notice your formations are interesting. You focus on one side and allow the other side to be dominated (according to the %). Your players have some nice ratings. The only thing I can think of is that my players have lower ratings do to me sucking at figuring out the ratio out. I've been modifying for eons! Like Nocerino is the only double digits and i've been upgrading his subs and it still isn't going past 10. So I'm so confused as to what your player distribution is like!
Rating only tells so much. Don't rely on them entirely. Take my year-after-year leading scorer. He gets a 4-rating but outscores the entire team including my other striker a 9-rating.
My strategy so far has been to put on the field the best players available, that's why I've been playing with 3 fwds for a while. I expect it to chage next season with new prospects coming to maturity.
CD Cristopher Ablett is out in a few days due to poor CL path, so are Joseph Blake and Yandel Watts due to limited qualities (good but not awesome).
Răzvan Chiriţă will play Mid and Johnnie Hoffman will play LD. Ethan Arsenault is almost ready to backup in CD. So is Oskari Magga as backup LD. If Bedřich Kalabis confirm a good career path, he's very likely to be a 2nd CM.
I expect to play a more traditional 4-4-2 next season, wit players in all squares of the field except fwds, with only Guillermo Seal and Gerald Doran as strikers.
In the longer term, Isaias McCarroll will play a last season and will be out due to poor CL path as well. He should remain CL4 at 19, but I'll sell him next season before going down to CL 3 at 20.
Armands Seipulis will probably replace Spenser Hill as starting keeper. He's older, but has better qualities and better career path.
As you can see, I'm really pissed off by my high-OTS-but-disapointing-results team and there will be huge shake ups in the future...

They will probably be more meaningful next seaon, with shot taken into account.
Also, Yoshi might struggle increasing player ratings due to energy. He played normal most of the season, ratings and OTS are affected by that... Plus as you say, secondaries are probably more important in soccer than hockey.

Yep. I played normal all year because I intended to not screw up any close games. I'd be more selective later but at the moment, I just wanted to make sure I had a better chance of winning each winnable game by a bigger margin. =) But yes Alex, what I meant was the two CDs and two RDs and midfield. I run a 4-3-3 because I didn't have a good enough midfielder to make it a 4-2-2 with Moss and Piper as my strikers. But with Hilderly in camp and another prospect in Furrows, I might run a 4-4-2 next season. The only players dropping for me in terms of CL are people that have been relegated to the bench. I intend to make a bit of money when the transfer dates are up. Got a lot of well-trained individuals with good secondaries that haven't been getting playing time because they're just not as good as the top players on my team.
I haven't figured out any of the ratios properly except maybe working on the GK. Everything else boggles me. Although my stars could be because I'm at like 83 energy for the season. For all I know, the 83 will be why I'm at 8 stars and not 10 stars when at 100%. Who knows!
But it was a great season. Lot of unexpected downturns like when we both lost to rikku. But ultimately turned out ok for me and hopefully you make it from the placement game.

Actually, I am the first amazed at my season. Finishing 8 in my first year is quite a feat (at least to me) and i'll be hard pressed to repeat next year.
