Asunto: NT prospective player discussion

I was hoping to post this if I got elected, but with how long the process is taking I decided to post this now. I wanted to share in a little bit more detail what my philosophy would be as the manager of the NT.

The first thing is that it will be very strange the first couple of seasons. With all players being young in the game, it will be a combination of trying to win now with the best players, while still raising up younger players for the following season(s). And without the other youth national teams, this becomes even more difficult (although I'm sure they will be added soon). This means player selection will be difficult and there may be some players chosen that aren't the best at the position, but are amazing long term investments.

And this leads me to player selection. I have different team setups that require different skill sets so each season will have different expectations of players and their skills. This is represented in their Gambit Score. At the end of all of this I will have how to calculate the Gambit Score for the different positions. In order for a player to be on the National Team the manager must post a link to the player as well as the player's Gambit Score and Gambit Quality.

Having a player on the National Team should be considered an honor. This means that the manager needs to do just a little bit of work, namely the posting of the information for players they believe deserve to be on the National Team. Also, this shows that the manager is someone who is willing to communicate and will make things much easier for discussion with such managers. Also, participation in forums should be more highly encouraged and I think this could be the first step for some people to do this.

Gambit Score (GS) Calculation:
To calculate a player's GS, simply multiply the attribute by the appropriate coefficient for the position and add all of those values together. The same process is then carried out for their Gambit Quality as well.

Chamberlain is already gaining experience as a backup. Franco and Mendez might possibly join him next season.

Vokac is probably the only older player worth serious consideration, and there are probably better PG's than him.

I just realized I never put down what I wanted the National Team composition to consist of.

The core 10 players will consist of 2 at every position.

The first three reserves will be a PG/SG, a SF, and a PF/C. With how similar the stats are for these positions I saw little reason to triple up at all 5 positions.

This allows for 7 players of age 15-18 with HIGH quality and good training centers to start preparing for the future.

This will then leave 5 spots open for emergency situations.

If I'm interpreting your GS right, you want PG's with shooting 3 times as high as aggressiveness right?

I just want to be sure I'm understanding this correctly.

I'm saying that aggressiveness has very little importance for PGs, hence it has a low coefficient for the GS. Passing, technique, and speed are much more useful so they have a higher coefficient.

Since I can't edit I'll just double post. I don't know how much players will grow. I can calculate GS/GQ for other positions if you think the young players will grow they much. Also the younger players are gaining a little exp. I have a 2nd line up set up for friendly games of mostly my young (15/16 yr olds) players.

Meacham won most assists in I.1 by a mile this season, and barely came in 2nd for most steals. Seems like something you want a PG to do. He's 90th in the world and 3rd in the USA in AvQ. He's only 296th in the world but 3rd in the USA in OR. Hopefully his CL holds out.

For Kent and Snider I only used the coefficients for PF since there would have been minimal change by doing C as well. I imagine they'll get at least tall enough to play PF, whereas Kent may get tall enough to play C.

I am converting Chamberlain from an SG to an SF based on the relative heights of my prospects. Franco is being converted from an SF to an SG. Mckenna was drafted as a PF, but I doubt he will grow tall enough, so I am training him as an SF and will probably end up selling him.

13 core are mostly determined, but I am still figuring out all of the youth positions. With the draft very soon I would appreciate people posting any wonderful new players that they get so we can see if they will fit in the roster. Thank you all very much for your help with all of this and I hope that I can still get your vote for NL team manager once the election starts.

Only have one at the moment. He's at 196cm so right now he is a SF, but if he grows his attributes are better at PF.
