It looks like I played The Space Pirates in the soccer national cup this season as well.
It's too bad I lost, though I've been missing a handful of key players due to running my camps and due to injuries. I won't really get to see how my full lineup stacks up this season until about a week from now.

I'm not sure if I missed something or what (i don't pay much attention in basketball), but how in the bloody hell does seeding/matchups in the national cup work?
I honestly can't figure out any rhyme or reason to it.
Are teams randomly assigned to pools? That looks to the be the case...?
If that is the case... why in the HELL do teams with shitty arenas get to play at home? I'm playing a dead team in the national cup this round, and because of that, I get to earn a MAXIMUM of a whopping $40,000. I earn more than double that in friendly matchups. That's absolutely retarded.
I'm all for the random setup, but they REALLY need to do something about where the game is played... because once teams max out their arena, it's preposterous that they could be forced to play an away game against a team with a 400 seat arena.
Imagine the Lakers getting forced to play in a high school gym... because that's where we're headed if they don't change this crap.

yeah, but your team playing home against a dead team should not motivate people to go to your big arena neither.
Who would pay to go see the Lakers play against the local kindergarten team? only that team's moms!!!
Regardless of that detail, i do agree that the home team should be always the team with higher stadium by the time the draw is made. it should be very easy to implement.
instead they use the retard pot side thing to determine the home team.
since the pot is random (i actually like that) it should definitely use the teams higher arena. or OTR or something of some worth other than "luck" to be assigned to the left side.
it hurts not only the team with big arena but the low team as they lose a great chance to cash some important money

What I don't understand is why we have to jump from one pot to another if there is no home court advantage, but I guess they want the top teams to collide faster. That's actually make the cup more interesting.
PPM Be like: Oh they have great 3rd string at every position besides SF where they're 2nd string isnt even that good??? BETTER HURRY AND GIVE THYRE FIRST STRING A RIGHT ARM BRUISE SO THE CRAPPY 2ND STRING HAS TO PLAY ALL GAME AND MAKE IT ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO WIN.
Fuck. This. System.

Wow I way underestimate my NT opponent. And paid for it by 4 points.. Of course didn't expect them to pay VH. But come on the first round!
Look at it this way, its one less thing you have to manage. The SAME teams win it season after season. Why PPM bothers to incorporate any division lower than Div.I is beyond me, it's pointless for 95% of teams.
Yeah I just checked out the History and it looks like the Hooligans from Canada won the NC cup in the 8th,9th,and 10th season. And got second in season 7.
And the Rec Hugs won it from season 4 through season 8. Since they went dead its gotten a bit more competitive, But still yeah only 3-5 teams even have a real chance.

That's when I started to pull away from the rest ☺
That being said while winning is nice, for lower teams simply winning a few rounds helps your OTR alot which is the most important thing in this game.

Yeah losing that sucks but my OTR is pretty good for my manger experience. My OTR is only 1 point behind someone in I.1 in Canada. And they have 600 more points of Manger experience. Though my team strength is way behind them. I think I got a lot from going undefeated in IV.3. Because I always lose my friendly's.
I won my first national cup game for this season 172-13. My backup SG scored 54 points. My backup C made 11 steals.
