John Shorter will be added as the starter, This 22 year old plays for Cunning Procrastinators (USA I.1) and has appeared in over 300 matches. CL is a good 4/6 and with a few starters on the National Team I hear that the Procrastinators are going to invest heavily in their training staff.

Sylvan Phelan will remain on the national team as a 2-way back. This 21 year old plays on Renamed 15881 (USA I.1) and has appeared in 57 matches. Sylvan will see a few matches this season. CL is an excellent 5/6

That is the depth charts for the US National Senior Team.
Home games will be played at the San Gyro Arena this season. A few changes to the face of the team. I hope you like the additions and the little write ups on the players.

Nice work with the individual player assessments. I am sad to see Logan Mallory step down from a starting role but at 3/6 CL it's time to give someone else a shot. Bryan Weber is excited for his second stint with the national team.

kytihu

Give John Raymond a look as a future attacking pivot contributor. 19 5/6. 773 OR. Great Qs. Although he would be a 3rd Covington player on the squad, and we've tried to avoid clumping.

tescosamoa

One thing I know now from doing this research is that the Procrastinators are a very scarey team in the making. It will be interesting to see how the two very different systems play out in USA I.1 over the next few years. ( That is specialized vs 2-way)

tescosamoa

He would be #3 ahead of Hugh Draper. Perhaps a good choice for the rookie spot to prepare for the U21 team.

tescosamoa

And adding all that up = 33 players. Must be metric math. So I will be cutting one swing players. Logan Mallory. Rookie Wilfred Crabtree will be cut and Phillip Larkin will not be added.

tescosamoa

Thank you Kytihu. I have Horne 50 weighted points ahead of Marrero at the moment. I will catch up and once again Marrero will regain top spot. Though King could overtake Marrero later this year. :(

bulls4ever

just one comment. be careful when you add too many "rookies" for one position. for example the right winger are all rookies but one. its good to have a reserve with some chemistry and drop a season later instead.

if rookies will be called but have no playing time, then no chemistry gain.

Unless the player you dropped is horrible, currently, that cant take advantage of chemistry id suggest to keep a second one with chemistry. give friendlies to your best rookie and drop him the following season.

that is how pascalle survived a bit longer before the 3rd goalie took his place and a different goalie could have been called.

Cool to see Derek Carney get the shoutout. In case you were interested, his CL just dropped to 4/6 at the beginning of this season... not bad for a 21 year old.

Also... while it's true that last season I played Ted Keenan on both offense and defense in friendly games, I've actually decided to change things up a little bit this season in an effort to get him more experience and popularity.

Both he and Kev Reynolds (who's worth a look for the U21 team) will be playing 45+ minutes in many more league games this season. Because of that, they'll both only play 1 way (30:00ish minutes) in friendly games this year.

They're gonna be trained much more as specialists going forward as well (Keenan as a primarily defensive back and Reynolds as an offensive back). Going forward, Keenan's SHO will be trained at the same rate as his TEC, while his BLK will continue to be trained at a slightly higher rate than his PAS.

lanky522

Also... that was a great, great breakdown Tesco.

I didn't really do an in-depth look at the entire roster, but I definitely appreciate the time that went into posting all of that info, and generally speaking... it looks pretty good!

lanky522

I was looking at some of this stuff a little bit more, and I don't understand why you're considering Dean Read for the starting defensive LB. In both the short and long-term, Dean Read is an incredibly average player.

I'm not trying to tell you how to do your job by any means, but I just don't understand the benefit of running with a poor quality, poorly trained ROOKIE in a starting position, when there are at least a few better options for the slot - several of which are as good (or better) in the long-term.

Even if you didn't want to give the job to Kevin Hall for whatever reason, you can always slide Don Womack over to the left side, and play a RB at CB.

I mean the guy has 74 AQ, 837 OR, 22 Exp, and 0 national team chemistry. There's 23 players with more OR on the national team. Maybe I'm missing something... because I really can't find any reason that he should be starting?

Mrbrightside098

Although I do agree with you that Dean Read shouldnt be starting, its for the reason of exp compared to others. Although he has a 74 AQ he has a substantially better EQ and he is not poorly trained. He has the perfect training for a defensive specialist. He is equal to Kevin Hall as of right now but is one year younger and has a higher CL.

I do agree that there are better suited players right now. It would probably be best to take a universal back and slot him there.

lanky522

How do you figure?

His speed is so low that his eOR is like 450. That's hardly what I would consider "perfect training."

I mean sure, with your facilities, you can probably fix that within the next several weeks, but it troubles me that you actually consider his training to be "perfect" as it is now.

Even if you did fix his training, I still don't think he's a good fit to start given the other options.

While I don't have all the backs scouted currently, he absolutely doesn't have "substantially better EQ" than Ted Keenan (who I do have scouted). Without checking, I imagine that Keenan has one of the top eQs on the team in fact.

Not only that, but Keenan's eOR is ~670 (200 higher than Dean Read 's), his OR is comparable, EXP is better... he has chemistry (because he was on the team last season) AND he's a year younger with better CL.

Supposedly Keenan is the 3rd RB on the depth chart despite being a future star for the team. It makes zero sense to me to favor a guy for LB just because he's a lefty, when you can slide Don Womack over to LB (because he's Universal) and run with two righties (one at CB and one at RB).
