Thanks for posting that info Leggy. I knew the gap was widening based on how you were able to spend, but I had no idea how much so. After 2 years nothing has changed I see except the amounts. Some could see the game was flawed in the gross level of disparity between top and even near top level incomes. I just wonder how the devs ever thought someone could hope to catch up. Talk about giving no reason to continue...
I just think at this point a manager should only focus on building up his facilities and stadium. Once that is maxed out for most of us then there should not be any discrepancies in cash from sponsors and the only difference will be the manager's decisions.
agreed. i'm about to start my first full season in Div III but even with this soulcrushing information about the top team in the US, I still intend to one day be in 1.1 and compete. It's not like nobody here can reach that level themselves if they just make good decisions. It may not happen in the near future, but Leggman will get his competition in time. The devs didn't cater the game specifically so that Legg would never lose, and people will eventually start catching up, if they haven't started already.
Thing I'm probably going down to is all the core o my team is the dame age and all will need to be replaced at the same time. People who built up gradually will have a chm and xp advantage on me when I finally pull the plug on these guys...
Not true though Legg - everyone's players started around the same time, our cores are aging and the difference is you can go buy up a ton of 15 year olds that are 6/6 with amazing specs and we're lucky to get a 4/6 25 year old who's balding
Dude it's gonna take about 3 years to get to 1.1 and still you will never catch up with those teams.
You're right, but this is not a game you can pick up, play and then drop. Most sport sims require you to invest a bit of time for a long period of time.
Yeah, but it really only ebbs and flows when there are mechanisms in place to ensure some level of parity. THings like salary caps, reverse draft orders, etc.
That's not the case here, so it's not clear to me how people would catch up to him.

Look, once all teams in 1.1, leagues 2 and most league 3 teams are maxed out, you'll see much more change up and down the divisions. It will come down to who can play the market better and manage the teams on a match-to-match level better. If you play the market well, you can afford better quality players and staff, assuring a better chance of success long term.
But we need to get to the point where we are all maxed out first. Leggman gets that cash because his stadium is much better than ours and his HR is better than ours. That's it. It's not as if the game is favoring him. At the same time he has got to pay more in daily expenses.

Revenue sharing? Is this something that can be run by the devs to include in the game?
I joined this site expecting to take 10+ seasons to be competitive in the higher leagues, let alone collecting trophies. If success were to come any quicker or easier, what would stop me from just playing NHL '11 or Madden? This is just as much a basic lesson in how to own and operate your own little business as it is a sports sim, and that takes time. So somebody got a legg up on everybody and is sitting pretty atop the mountain, that just gives me a goal to aim for. The higher ups just need to worry about keeping this game running for 3 years, and I'll still be here in 3 years operating my little armchair sports franchise. Hopefully I won't be alone. haha
I like your view on it, that's the same way I'm trying to play it.
Well, if the devs saw fit, they could in effect implement revenue sharing by decreasing the disparity between sponsorship offers at the high and the low end, especially within the same league level.
They'd have to implement a salary cap if that were something people saw the need for.
Personally I don't think it's in question that parity increases competition and competition increases interest.

nicely put joni. I just compete against the ones that are at the same level as me but target Legg's team as the long term goal. Game on!
