It is ridiculous to think that a 70-80-80 is better than a 70-90-90.
I would say that there is a good ratio to use the maximum amount of a person's skill, but varying from that ratio has diminished effects (like a bell curve).

I've always found a relation between goals with a close shot:tech ratio... especially this season. I had a player 44+ shot and 25 tech with 1 goal in 35 shots. He now has 30+ tech and has 7 or 8 goals in 45-50 shots.
your absolutely right - i cant believe i wrote that looking back on it now. Completely stupid.
Here's my breakdown of my players to date for this season regarding assists per game. Same as before it's broke down by atty levels. To help give it perspective I also did a weighted average of primary to passing. Since defenders and centers both use passing as a secondary whereas for wingers it's tertiary I lumped defenders and centers together.
<25 passing atty
pos games avg assist/game avg % passing to primary atty
w 23 avgASpg= 0.086 avg pri/pa= 29.3
d/c - avgASpg= - avg pri/pa= -
26-30
w 61 avgASpg= 0.245 avg pri/pa= 41.1
d/c 41 avgASpg= 0.292 avg pri/pa= 48.7
31-35
w 36 avgASpg= 0.416 avg pri/pa= 45.4
d/c 110 avgASpg= 0.427 avg pri/pa= 52.3
36-40
w 4 avgASpg= 0.750 avg pri/pa= 63.4
d/c 32 avgASpg= 0.468 avg pri/pa= 50.2
>41
w 15 avgASpg= 0.333 avg pri/pa= 65.4
d/c 30 avgASpg= 0.366 avg pri/pa= 63.3
From this relatively small sample it sure makes me think for defenders and centers it's best to be between 50-55% of primary and takes a hit over 60%. I'd love to see results like this from anyone else who would tabulate them for their team.

In other words, blues you idiot you are spending too much time on shooting, works for me
i need to do my own breakdown, but that math part of my brain isn't functioning. Actually its been out of use since I finished my GRE's.
I was gone for a couple of days and I dont have time to read through all of your posts right now. If anyone could summarize the most important questions, Ill be glad to help.
C'm on people, I mean you Americans, no fancy talk just put it in 4-5 sentences for Vlady.
Then we will have more material to speculate with

I'm not American, but I hope I can help.
1. How to build a most effective team possible with a fixed total OR?
2. How to train the perfect goal scorer and the perfect assistant? What types of players should they play together with?
3. How to make him the first star of every game and how to get him in the Allstars?
And the most important one:
4. How to make it clear that somebody is dumb without insulting him?

I would like to know also are there penalties if secondary skill excess primary skill, like: 80:90:90 ? That means he plays like he has 80:80:80 or less.
