i have a question regarding playing at home or away. comparing to other teams in the league i'm worse in playing away than at home. is there any factor that influences that?
i have already asked this question once in our local forum and i got unuseful answers like home advantage which is irrelevant in this case. i am not comparing my own wins at home and away. i am comparing my wins at home regarding to other teams' wins at home and my wins away regarding to other teams' wins away.
put simple: are some teams better when playing abroad than other playing abroad, and why?

In some cases yes, but in many cases it has small significance.

I think it means exactly that. Based on what Mrk1, opivy and vlady have said and what is written in the Guide for technique (In defense it is required mainly for one-on-one battles. It helps the defensemen win these battles thanks to good stickhandling and speed and decrease the number of penalties. A forward with a good technique can be effective in one-on-one battles thanks to very good stickhandling and good speed.) it seems to me like it checks the forward's technique against the defender's, if forward is sufficiently better then he would get the breakaway and then the defender's aggressiveness is checked to see if he will illegally prevent it and get the penalty. Or something like that, it makes sense to me.

Too bad I can't see my league statistics, now I'm wondering if I had substantially more powerplays than most other teams, I should have quite higher technique since I train it in relatively high ratios on all players.

Thanks, that is good to know, but i was actually wondering about powerplay situations, if that is even in the statistics. That would tell me if my technique has any influence on the opponents' penalties. Though it wouldn't really mean anything since for data to be significant we would need a big sample, but it might be indicative.

You are the 2nd with 166 PPs. Tuljani is leading with 197 and the 3rd is Veličanstveni with 150.

Thanks, I will need to scout some players from team Tuljani and hope they have better techniques than mine do, or else I'll have to give up on this theory. Or blame the difference on random which I don't like doing. Hmm or it might be that he played more games against weaker teams up to this point, I think I'll check the numbers again at the end of season, that gives me just enough time to do the scouting. (And this idea came just at the right time, I ran out of ideas what to scout.)

what atty ratio do goalies do better with? i'm having consistent performance problems and trying to figure out why. i have just reached a 4-3-2 ratio (or close enough) on my first and second stringers.

Don't you think, the engine compares tech of the attackers versus agg of the defending players and vice versa to decide whether there is a penalty or not?

I don't know, look at this example from my match today, it seems like a good example of what I had in mind:

26:28 - Tomo Sužberić turns the puck over in the neutral zone. Ante Lukač gets into a break, he is closed down by Slaven Bebek, who can't keep up with him so he uses his stick and Ante Lukač drops on the ice. A clear tripping penalty and two minutes for Slaven Bebek. But what other choice he had? That was a tactical penalty that he had to take.

I know some people think these descriptions don't really mean anything, that they are just randomly generated after it was decided that there is a penalty, but what if it is not so? Then in this case it would seem to me like there is a technique vs technique check between the two players to see if he can keep up and then when he fails that aggressiveness vs technique check to see if he would manage to trip him or he would be able to avoid that too. (And then potentially attacker's shooting vs goalie's skills to determine the outcome of the shot of course.) Hm that does look too complicated, I guess I've played too many RPG's and wrongly transfer that way of thinking into games where it doesn't belong. Still it would be cool if it worked like that. But even then this would not be the only way a situation can work out to create a penalty (in others there could be different skill checks), looking at descriptions from my game today it seems that some really would be the result of the attacker's aggressiveness and some seemingly completely random. (Like slashing a goalie while trying to get the loose puck. Though I guess that might be result of technique vs technique check between attacker and goalie in such a system.)

Holy crap I went way too far from guessing how it might work to thinking how I would make it. (I'm a programmer and tried making some RPG's occasionally but always gave up due to laziness.)

does anyone find the "Total" column on the finances page useful? I was wondering if it would not be more useful to replace that with the numbers from last season. That way you can do some comparison. The total doesn't tell me anything...

Does anyone know how the OTR gains from a game are worked out?
Yesterday I beat the leaders of I.1, away from home,who have an OTR of 387.99 and I gained 2.75. However, 9 days ago, I beat a mid-tabled team, again away from home, with an OTR now of 292.63, yet I gained 2.87. This makes no sense.

I suspected that the result was the cause for this, but you have won 4:1 yesterday and 5:3 10 days back. Really weird. Yesterday's rise should be bigger indeed.
