I honestly never even thought of the account baby sitter option. definitely probably something to consider.

I'm not sure how it works though? do they basically just have full control of your team, but not your account settings or what?

In all seriousness, referencing what Bobby mentioned, I'd be happy to be a designated sitter if you're ever going to be gone for more than a few days and need someone to just make sure your team stays up (players remain if the amount is reasonable, etc.)!

I believe they do have full control of the team, but maybe only at certain times? I honestly don't know.

well in the settings screen it says the following:

"If you know that you are not going to be able to log into your account for a longer period, you can assign one user to manage your team in your absence. This permission is given for a period of maximum 30 days or until it is revoked. In order to use this feature, both you and your sitter must be subscribed for the PRO pack in any sport for at least the next 30 days."

So i guess to the extent that you have the pro pack, that could work.

problem is, it's not really so much planned that I need a sitter lol. This past week while i was on vacation, that was definitely the issue, but all the other times, that I've goofed and forgotten to log in for too long a period, it wasn't really "planned."

So if we were to do it, it'd be more of a "permanent" backup sort of thing, where you'd just check in on my team if you notice I've been offline for almost a week. And I'm not sure If that's as interesting of a deal to you.

you'd basically have a 5th (or 6th or 7th?) thing to keep track of (your four teams, national teams, in addition to checking in on mine).

I wouldn't be opposed to that (I've got the pro pack on all sports for at least another 11 months or so). The only thing I am concerned about is, if I understand correctly, the possibility of getting blocked because they think I'm playing two accounts.

That's awesome that you'd still be down to help me out. It'd be greatly appreciated, and really wouldn't be too much work. My team largely runs itself these days (which is honestly part of my problem with forgetting to log in).

Regarding your concerns:
From what I understand, that shouldn't be a problem (i mean, that'd be nonsense if they have the "account sitter" option as a feature of owning the pro pack, which we both paid money for, and then block people when they use it).

I would tend to think that as long as you don't do anything along the lines of placing my players on the market for sale, and then buying them with your other team, you'd probably be fine. But if it's a deal-breaking concern of yours, we can probably investigate it a bit further by asking one of the forum gm/moderator people for their take on it.

Oh, I definitely plan on purchasing your best players I can afford, set at 10k. LOL jk!

(I am such a rule follower that my office mate--who uses the same IP address and plays soccer in my league--and I only rarely play friendlies and I have to remind him we can't bid on each other's players, lol)

i mean, that's probably a good way to go. I heard stories of people running into issues with stuff like that before (co-workers, family members, etc.).

Honestly though, I sort of wonder how much they even bother tracking it anymore though. They stopped all development on this game a while ago now (maybe going on 2 years now i think?), so i tend to think that for most stuff, they don't really care anymore.

I know they still police market transactions for shady bidding, but that's an "active report" system rather than passive monitoring. Basically, players report shady transactions, the gms get a "ping" (i'm sure), they look at them quickly and make a decision. I haven't heard of any account banning since maybe season 6 or 7 of handball... likely because it requires much more effort / time to track that sort of stuff. for whatever that's worth.

Anyways. I'll throw you on there as account sitter, and you can tell me what it looks like and / or how it works. (i actually wonder if you even need to change anything at all with you log in tbh. you might just be able to access the team setup directly through your account or something).

But cool. glad to know it seems to be working. And yeah. also cool that you logging in doesn't boot me out if i'm already logged in haha. ^_^

I once set someone up as sitter for my account in a different sports manager game when I went on vacation. The person didn't know how to use the sitter feature and never bothered to try to figure it out. I missed out on a season during the prime of my players (they were competitive for titles) and also missed out on a season of experience for training them.

reverist is one of the remaining active players and should do a good job - better than me anyway since I tend to be a bit lazy about the daily minutiae these days.

that's sort of why I really think it's better to use the feature as a sort of "backup" rather than relying on it 100%.

my aim is to just have that 2nd layer that's there for the occasional times when I lose track of the days, in order to maybe save me from myself a bit more.

that's not to say that it's foolproof, and i definitely wouldn't fault my sitter / backup for missing something that I also missed. but it might just serve as an extra help while I try to get my act together lol.

I have used a sitter once, and been one twice without incident. But, in those cases, it involved my brother, and he knows where I live.

It looks like we lost another playoff team in I.1. The Oregon Sixgunners manager had dropped teams in other sports, but it had seemed like the handball team would last.

Handball was at a point where there were 8 teams left that were clearly a step above the other teams, so it will be interesting to see who manages to capitalize on the opportunity going forward. It'll probably be the Beavers. Green Bay Top Flight also has good infrastructure to eventually compete. Anyone could probably make a few acquisitions and capture the spot in the short run though.
