Bittersweet moment for me. My first time in Div 1 in any of the sports (and the one I know the least about), offset by the realization that I'm going to get my ass kicked this season...go easy on me

Ever since i upgraded my academy to level 14, all my players that are coming in from the academy have the OR under 300. Same thing in Basketball. It seems like with each upgrade quality of players decreases. 
I've noticed that as well... have been doing better in the draft in basketball than pulls
A few days ago i bough a sporting director for 8m to increase my youth efficiency in basketball from 50% to 75%, and still got 1 star players with OR below 250. And i have a level 14 academy there also. I was planning to start build level 15 academy this week but now most likely will invest those money into 2 triple floor stands.
my theory is that they correct opportunities in the background 
The player Ramón Doud that i sold last season for 75M, has been sold today again for 6M. That guy took a huge blow.
I mean... it's not surprising. Few teams that spend that kind of money on average players make back what they spent.
Mostly because:
1) they overpaid in the first place and have no concept of what a player is really worth
and/or
2) they spend so much money on players, that they can't afford to upgrade their facilities so they can actually train them properly (and the players lose whatever value they DID have tremendously quickly).

In the case of Ramón Doud , I think it was absolutely a combination of the two.
Mostly because:
1) they overpaid in the first place and have no concept of what a player is really worth
and/or
2) they spend so much money on players, that they can't afford to upgrade their facilities so they can actually train them properly (and the players lose whatever value they DID have tremendously quickly).
