one of my players went from rating of 5 to a 4
i mustve made a mistake in training
has anyone have a clue to the optimized builds?

I think ratings are affected by lots of factors like low/normal/high, positioning, home/away, chemistry, energy, etc. It may be completely unrelated to training.
For sure is not related to training. My goalie drops 2 points when I play low and 1 point when I play away.
I am using 4-3-2-1 but that also depends of the talent of the player.

I know a lot of players are basing their builds on the hockey engine and what ratio worked best in that game, but I suspect that the ratio will not be related (there are more primary and secondary skills, so why not a different engine?). I begin to suspect the star ratings, as they seem to go up with primary growth regardless of secondary skills (so it measures a player's primary strength, but not necessarily their effectiveness).
This is what some people think, that the stars system is cute but does not reflect the reality (real player strength during a game).
I almost think that primary:major ratio could be as close as 1:1 and if we were to use the hockey findings as a guide then major:medium:minor might be at 4:3:2
I wonder too if there is a second ratio of primaries at something like 4:2:1 as skills in unrelated primary attributes come into play as players move on the field.

I'm using a 12:6:4:3 ratio with Primary:Major:Medium:Minor... We'll see what that does for me.
That's a really good ratio system you have displayed here, after studying ratings to ratio comparison that is the ratio I was also going to strive to and see if i can get an increase on the post game position ratings... I have some major primary attribute training to do.
a little off the topic ... do the attribute qualities fluctuate ? just had a defensive primary change to a offense primary...
How is the 12:6:4:3 training coming along? are you still training this way?
I'm not. I'm training more what my GK research has conducted me to believe is best and since I've fine tuned it my teamwork has gone up 4pts in 6 games.
Muwahaha. I did to the contributors. It's mostly similar to what you stated but a tad more emphasis on secondaries. Darren Barber is a good example of how I train - feel free to scout him. I can tell you my training if you PM me, but I don't want to disclose my training over the forums for all, including the competition, to see.
