when setting up training programs. How many points should I put for shooting?

People are very hesitant to give out exact training numbers, highly secretive. It really depends on what league your in and strategy you use. Scout some of the other teams in your league (best players)that should give you a decent idea of how much shooting skill is required to put a puck past those goalies in that league consistently. keep in mind its hard for a scorer to score if you don't put a couple good passers on the ice at the same time a very good pass can make even bad shooters score a slick passing defenceman can send you on a couple breakaways a game. hope this helps

Good forwards go for 120-80 on their shooting. There was a good article written about it , 2 years ago. Never go below 80. IE... 10-8-5-5

So when you set automatic practices, does it count down until it finishes the practice you assigned or how does it work exactly. Trying to get my players set to the 2-1-1 standard.

they will switch over next practice day to the new system.

yea know I was wondering if say you set shooting for 5 and every time it goes up 1 if the 5 goes to 4.

the numbers you enter for training are a ratio not a limit. They themselves will not ever (automatically) change. Your players' stats will try to equalize to your set ratio. As long as you have auto training set your player will continue to improve in the skill you have entered. The skill that will improve that day is the one furthest from the ratio.

EXAMPLE:
Say you want to train a winger to 100, 80, 50, 50 [OFF, SHOT, TECH, AGG] and he is currently 67,55,43,45.
Since OFF is furthest away from it's ratio (twice TECH,AGG) your player will train until OFF is double TECH and AGG. In this case OFF will train until about 86-90 at which time the next furthest stat will increase until it is in line with your ratio.

The training will never stop; it will just keep increasing your stats in equilibrium until you stop the training yourself (which you probably wouldn't do) or change the ratio.
