starting today first teams are inactive, right ? my opponent today hasn't got any login...
Got something chanced in the guide about the number of youth players and staff you can get every second week? Have been waiting on level 3 to get minimum 2 players, but have been wondering, there was just 1. I looked into the guide and ii says now, minimum 1. I mean last week the numbers were as they are in hockey, or am I just stupid?
I think it changed indeed. football team has max. of 11 players on field, hockey team at least 15, so I guess there's the difference
as max. players you get in hockey is 8, and in football "only" 6

Hi everybody,
I thought that sanctions have been introduced to decrease the efficiency of totally unrealistic tactics. Well obviously, it is not the case:

http://soccer.powerplaymanager .com/fr/resume-du-match.html?d ata=201006173425
Not only those team shouldn’t have a single chance in a lifetime to win these matches, but they event should be at least 5 goals behind their opponent (if not more), providing that the players have roughly the same level, which should be the case in these examples.
I am a little bit surprised because you could think that preventing a tactic from winning when it is so blatantly conflicting with football logic (and common sense as well) should be the very first thing to do after implementing a tool that allows you to put your player wherever you want on the pitch.
I am also disappointed, because if you can win a match by putting your players at totally random places on the field, it cast a serious doubt on the influence of the tactic (I am talking of player positioning here) on the outcome of the game. If putting all your players on the right side of the field is not enough to make you lose, then I doubt that making slight tactical adjustment have any influence at all… Unfortunately, it takes away some fun and interest in the game, and should be corrected in my opinion (at least the tactic acting against football logic should be HUGELY disadvantaged, and loose any match by a clear margin: knowing that you can loose against somebody who didn’t field any centre player when you have carefully prepared you composition is rather discouraging).
I would like to know if it things are OK, and are not gonna change, or if something is planned to reverse this situation.
Cheers

Seriously, I'm at a loss regarding the Soccer game. I can't figure out how to tell anything about the matches to know how to improve my team. For example, what was the difference between these two matches:
soccer.powerplaymanager.c...
and
soccer.powerplaymanager.c...
Also, it shows my players lines up like that but that's totally not how I have them setup. What gives with that? Can you tell me what tactic I used? How about him? I can see a few things the players did via stats, which is helpful. The thing is how can I tell if they under/over performed their stats. Is there any way to determine what areas they need to train in?

The only question I can answer about is what is the difference beween these 2 matches : there are no differences. The two teams have roughly the same level, so they have roughly the same stats. The games are pretty balanced : the first one end with 2/2 at the end of regular time, the second 0/1 : nothing abnormal here for me. You can't expect two teams playing against each other always obtaining the exact same result. That doesn't make any sense.
However, I agree with you when you say that they are too few informations on the match report. But hopefully, this should be improved with time.
But improving something with the gestion of incoherent / unrealistic / against the logic of football tactics seems an even more important preocupation to me.

Thanks for the reply. I have a few follow up questions for you if I may.
How can you tell the two teams are roughly the same level by looking at either report, besides the score results? I wasn't hoping to complain about the results of the matches but about the lack of information... or what I see as the lack of information.
I have to confess I know very little about soccer. I don't expect, nor want, PPM to teach me all there is to know about soccer. I just hope it can help tie in enough information where the results can make more sense so me, or anyone. So we can make more informed decisions. Given the vagueness of results in the hockey game engine I can't imagine trying to learn all there is to know about players and their performance based solely on game statistics.
I'm not sure what you intend to say with the last paragraph.

Well I based my observation "the two team have the same level" on the fact that the game is only one week old, and all the team generated are roughly the same level, so I assumed that the starting 11 of the two teams somehowe have the same level.
This is enforced by the fact that "the two games are pretty balanced", which I can see from the possesion (52-48 and 49-512) and the number of shoots produced by the team (never more than one shoot of difference), and the final score as well.
But this is just my own conclusion, and I may be wrong. More statistics (maybe the tacke lost/succeded, the pass lost/succeded) whould be very usefull.
And for my last paragraph, I was just refering to my own post about unrealistic tactics, 5 posts higher on this thread

At the begining, most players have aprox. same skills (main + sec), so the differences between team values are insignifiant.(How can you win a game in the begining ?...playing the right tactic/counter tactic.)
Even if it's a little bit hard (for the momment due to low player skills) you can find out what was your opponent tactic from 'Ball posession'.

I see I see, Ya I figure the teams can't be all that far apart in ability as well. I wish the game had a way of telling us that or if they weren't, other than with results.
Thanks for the replies. I'll be curious to read what others think as well in case there's more that we've missed.
