Let me qualificate your statement. Problem is the variance of the results around the expected result is way too high (if you prefer, too much of random component is being added to the equation).
i prefer to simulate calculating arithmaticaly because 100 is bigger than 50!
I beleive in random game, when better team gets red card or makes a penalty. But red card for underdog and 0-0 thats ridiculous.
As a info, in PPM 149 is not bigger than 137 as 49 is bigger than 37. 
Then, don't forget about home advantage (add that bonus to your opponent strength and I think he's over yours).
Even if you have highest team strength in Romania, that doesn't mean you should win all games: shit may happen, wrong tactics may be used, etc. There are lots of factors...

Both are decent teams, yes, home is better, but the away team made the most of their chances. Home team's formation was way too open in the middle and the away team's formation focused on the middle.

It happens, and it cost me a good ranking in ChL that I'm paying for it now by facing tougher opponents. Good teams lose to weaker teams in real life, I'm glad it happens in PPM too.
