Suggestion:
It has become apparent that a pick in the latter half of the draft will be very difficult to get a B player or better. What if we could 'trade' draft positions i.e. offer any position above you in game money to swap draft positions. A team at the top of the league will pick last next draft, but might have excess cash, the person at the bottom may not have a large cash flow and may see benefit in trading positions for a couple mil

I thought that idea too but that is exceptionally hard to police. Can't see it happening.

What if it was set up like the RFA system. Make em an offer and on the day before or something, the team would be presented with the offer. but i guess there could be cheating?

I see how you could make it work. But, it'd just allow the rich to get richer. I'd rather they iron out some other kinks first.

The purpose (besides the fun it brings) of a draft is to inject some sense of parity, no? If, after the draft, the players' creation is then tailored based on the sports academy and sporting directors, doesn't that remove (mostly) the idea of the pool of players in the draft being the same for everybody?

You can't ignore the invested money... there has to be some reward. Where the balances comes is that you can pick positions that you need. And, in weeks 8 and 16, the weaker teams will have first crack at the best players. These better players will have high-Qs and since OR is tailored closely to Qs they'll arrive at their SA as better-than-average players.

I could be wrong but my understanding is the grade, A/B/C etc is for the quality of the player, and this wouldn't change no matter who drafts them. The actual starting stats would be influenced by the sports academy, so you don't have a level 1 SA pulling a 400+ OR player.

my concern was we'd draft, and not get a chance to see the draft players, but u do have an interesting point... and yeah, i'm having great fun with the draft hope u do too !

The invested money helps in the week-to-week youth school picks, but I'm surprised it is applied to the draft. It is like saying this player can be brought into multiple organizations, but he changes physically and mentally dependent on the organization he joins. A low team picking high, no matter how good a player he chooses, will still have other players chosen below that, because of their facilities, make that top pick still the best choice - but no longer the best chosen.

It is a bit worse in the Other World where the poor fellow's country of origin is determined by who drafts him.

Coming from a username buttocks makes that statement all the more funny.

The draft is not a pure-NA-style draft. It is a compromise based on necessity for a game like this. I think it is a nice balance between rewarding existing money spent and helping out younger/weaker teams.

I'm not sure this has been asked before, but what about the teams that are in the middle of the draft order? Will they ever get to pick first/early at all? I got in on this one really late cuz I'm traveling and couldn't find the draft page until thursday, only found Bs and Cs on this one so it doesn't really matter. Just asking for future reference.

Weeks 4 and 12 are sorted by SA level. Weeks 8 and 16 are sorted by lowest ranking in the standings. So if you have a mid-level SA and are 10th in the standings you'll likely pick anywhere from 7-13th.
