Well I have to ask myself some serious question afterbthis lost in first round... I have a better defence, a better shooting a better goaler but still lost to a better offence ...
maybe... from what I exêrience in tournament I choose the best tactic I tought...
First thing first I'm changing my ratio ... than I'll look back at my tactics

I agree. Just seems weird that I had a hard time going through him last season and yet he barely made the playoffs this season.
IceDogs did have lower defense, shooting, and goaltending strengths but not by much. Huge difference in offense though, I guess that's why he won?
While I had better strengths in every category except shooting, which was lower by 1, still managed to lose. Always bites me, this team strengths bullshit.

neither did I, just bad luck I guess, I guess, his goaltender played very well with 44% and 38% while mine had a decidedly very average series
Team strength isn't the only factor. Tactics play a pretty big part.
I'm aware, but my problem with it's hard to make sense because of its inconsistency.
If you look at my playoff series, I employed the exact same tactics in the 2nd half of Game 1, and in the 1st half of Game 2. The opponent's tactics were repeated in those respective halves of Games 1&2.
But looking at those halves individually, I lost the 2nd H of Game 1 15:13. I won the 1st H of Game 2 18:14. They are different halves, but they both began with a neutral score as well - 16:16 before 2H of G1, and 0:0 at the start of G2.
Sure, the results are calculated by many factors I may not be exposed to, but you can only try to make sense of the result with what is exposed to you - team strength, which I had the better of, and tactics.

It's sports, the best team/tactics doesn't always win. If that was the case, there would be no reason to play the games.
I kept them pretty good - my PV, LB, RB and GK - who I played the most were at 84 at the start of the series. My best winger was at 86, and the rest of the lineup were greater or equal to 89.
You're talking real sports, but this is a sports simulation game. I don't know if a lot of those factors that influence results in real sports are incorporated into this game, and still have a great influence on results. But I think it's reasonable to assume that as a manager you should be able to make sense of the result according to what types of info are available to you.
